Um...yeah...like I give a shit about any of the “royalty” crap or some damned Episcopal priest with an axe to grind.
The service was too “made for TV.” The couple was old enough to know better when they were planning it.
He was awful. Spied more than one yawn from the guests from his droning on and on and on and on. I had time to fix breakfast for the furbabies and ourselves and he was still going on. At one point, he realized he was too enamored of his own voice taking away from the happy couple’s day and said he needed to get them married but still kept on and on and on. Liz likes everything planned down to the minute but guaranteed he threw off the timeline. He was most disrespectful. Leaning all over the pulpit and had his elbows up on it and just shy of going off the deep end into a good old revival meeting. What was witnessed today was the official end of the British monarchy.
He was chosen because he's..... wait for it.... black. Bet Meghan never met him before today. Like Obama, Meghan is more white than black but it's obvious she and he hate their white side.
That's exactly what I asked Mr. b.
Exactly! “Love” is not God. Additionally, it cannot be love if truth is not part of the equation. Love and truth are mutually inclusive! Love that is devoid of truth is not love, but rather to “despise” or to “enable”. We like to talk about “tough love” as being a necessary evil, however all love should actually be “tough” because truth is tough.
Someone who adores “love” can excuse adultery. After all...”I love her. No...now her! Um...now her!” It was the Supreme Court’s excuse for legalizing homosexual marriage. After all:
The nature of marriage is that, through its enduring bond, two persons together can find other freedoms, such as expression, intimacy, and spirituality. This is true for all persons, whatever their sexual orientation There is dignity in the bond between two men or two women who seek to marry and in their autonomy to make such profound choices.
Marriage responds to the universal fear that a lonely person might call out only to find no one there. It offers the hope of companionship and understanding and assurance that while both still live there will be someone to care for the other.
Why swear to forsake all others, if love is god? Why not “love” everyone? And you should “love” someone enough (according to this preacher) to give them things for free after you worked to make them - although they don’t need to love you enough to pay you for your efforts!
When love becomes our highest good, we can justify anything. You can abort because your child wouldn’t be fully loved. You can kill someone if they stop loving you. You can dominate others because you love them and want what is good for them - liberalism!
When love reigns supreme over all other virtues - truth, honesty, justice - it enables any evil.
Years ago, I think I heard Brit Hume (or someone) on Fox News mention that some of the clergy / dioceses who left TEC have formed their own conservative version of TEC. Is that true?
You're probably right. Supposedly Meghan grew up Catholic. This bishop is Episcopalian.
Star? His performance was disgraceful. Not one ounce of decorum. He could easily have spoken the same message without the theatrical nonsense.
I didn’t watch any of the wedding. Did this bishop’s sermon include the call and response, “can I get a witness!” participation from the congregation? That would have been the icing on the cake. That, and a big, the Holy Spirit is moving dancing scene like the James Brown church in “The Blues Brothers,” led by Oprah.
Typical AME stuff. So-called “Bishop” is a rabid anti-trumped. The only real Bishops are those who enjoy Apostolic succession. The rest are all scams.
“The Band!”
I got married in secret, with only a best man and bridesmaid in attendance. The preacher went into a rant about the dangers of alcohol, which we found amusing and may have had to do with the best man being tanked.
Curry is not AME, he’s a genuine mainline Episcopalian. The Episcopal Church, like all Anglicans, do actually have Apostolic Succession, but that doesn’t mean that the majority of their duly consecrated bishops....like Micheal Curry, are not apostate.
He’s a snake and a false teacher, slick-talking, but, real-gospel-free..... and Presiding Bishop of America’s Episcopal Church (TEC).
Yes, and I'm a member of one of those over 700 congregations, of about 100,000 people total. The new province--recognized by the majority of the Bishops in the world-wide Anglican church (but not recognized by the Archbishop of Canterbury), is called the Anglican Church of North America (as it includes Canadian parishes). anglicanchurch.net/
We don't ordain homosexuals, or marry them. It's an orthodox conservative Anglican bible-believing denomination...quite unlike what's left of The Episcopal Church.
We uphold the real Gospel, the good news of faith in Jesus Christ, quite unlike the "gospel-lite" of undefined "love" taught by Micheal Curry in the wedding yesterday.
Amen! Great explanation!
Apostolic succession? Henry VII- The King is the Supreme Head of the Anglican Church that now allows for married male and female gay and lesbian pastors.
Actually not (yet) correct. Gay marriage is not yet permitted outright in the Church of England. In the world-wide Anglican Communion...other than the USA, Canada, and Australia, it is banned. That makes probably 80% of Anglicans orthodox on that issue (since developing world Anglicans are by far the majority of Anglicans).
Henry VIII was also a very long time ago—but, Apostolic Succession was continued in the Anglican Church after her break with Rome—despite Rome’s false claims to the otherwise.
My point is, yes, Apostolic Succession still exists in the Church of England—and The Episcopal Church in the USA, and so what? That hasn’t prevented apostasy from prevailing.
I’d argue that Apostolic Succession never hindered error & corruption in the Roman and Eastern Churches either.
