Germany is a monstrous splatter of overfed pigeon crap on the windshield of history.
For most people, history is what you have lived in your lifetime or thru your parents stories.
I was always interested in WWII because a favorite uncle was injured on Iwo Jima. Other history became more interesting as I got older.
All our youth know today is Global warming and diversity..............
Honestly it’s probably time for German people to move past that dark moment in their history. They are on a path of self destruction because of a collective guilt that most of them weren’t even alive when it happened

Don't forget, until well after the Romans appeared, the Germans were nomadic tribes that didn't even have a written language, and spent most of their time wallowing in pig $hit and engaging in petty feuds.
It was only when Christian missionaries came, that the Germans developed its sophisticated ways. It was only after the Germans were Christianized that they developed the Guttenberg press, that Martin Luther became the first modern media star, and that the German states actually became a powerful force for Christianity all over Europe, and later in America (remember John Wesley and Moravians?).
It was in the 18th and 19th Centuries that Germans began to abandon God and begin pursuing the "perfection of man". German society had many philosophers who successfully separated man from his Creator, and this lack of connect bred a sanctimonious and self-righteousness that led to many Germans believing they are the "Master Race" (and some of that arrogance is present even today among modern Germans).
It was this sense of superiority and lack of humility to led to their attempts to take over Europe twice in the 20th Century. They had a form of God- Bismarck was a staunch Christian. However, the Wehrmacht's belt buckles- "Gott Mit Uns" (God with us) demonstrates that they put God below what was best for Germany. WE should be with God.
Today's Germans aren't the genocidal maniacs that tried to conquer the world 75 years ago (heck, most Germans I've met sound like they have French accents). However, they still have that same sense of superiority and look down on others, although it comes in new forms.
In conclusion, I've never met a dumb German. However, I've yet to meet on that has humbled themselves enough to turn to Jesus. If any of you know some German Christians, please let me know.
That’s right. I meant East Prussia. I should have paid more attention before posting. West Prussia is a different case in a way anyway because it was more heavily mixed between ethnic Germans and Poles than East Prussia (and wasn’t just about the Soviets’ whim to take it from the Germans, but was given away as part of legitimate peace treaties after WWI).
The important West Prussian city of Danzig is a separate case, though, of course, in that it was made into a free city that both Germany and Poland could use after WWI. After WWII the Soviets ethnically cleansed the 95% ethnic German city and gave it to Poland.
Germany did indeed lose additional territory than just Prussia after the wars and is now a much smaller country than it was pre-WWI. I feel I should also mention that the Soviets also took part of eastern Poland and gave it to the Ukraine after WWII, so the Poles didn’t get that German territory from the Soviets for free.
You made my point sooner than I was going to and better than I would have.
What amazes me is that dozens of various political figures have dumped on this commentary that the guy made. But they are just proving his point....thousands of pages of history and some of it very worth discussing in long detail. Yet, the political crowd wants to drag this anchor around for Nazi-guilt when the vast number of Germans under the age of twenty-five just don’t buy off on the guilt factor anymore.
Tell that to the millions of people Hitler was responsible for killing not counting the destruction he caused; add in what Germany did during WW1 and you have a huge pile of bird poop.
German media is controlled by the government which views AfD as domestic enemies.
Don’t forget the Franco-Prussian War and World War One. Germans tried to overrun their neighbors three time in 70 years.
Well those two wars in themselves makes that bird poop statement ridiculous - that bird poop would bury Germany a hundred feet deep all over the country; so right, you can add in the Franco-Prussian war as well.

It was a brief period. And despite the rantings of commies who until Hitler betrayed them, were all for him, MUCH evil has occurred in ALL history.
Don’t trust evil commies who treat Hitler and his NAZIs as the only evil boogie man ever, the epitome of bad. That is total nonsense.

I remember reading that economics was not being taught in high school because ‘it is too depressing.’ This was long before snowflakes, but part of the mindset.
Hitler or someone like him was inevitable given the horrific conditions of the Weimar Republic, an economic atrocity engineered at the insistence of the French at Versailles.
Going back over Franco-German relations prior to WWI, I decided they deserved each other, much as the Troubles between Ireland and England. There were no good guys.
The French deserved the German occupation, and have never forgiven the US for liberating them.
