Hank Aaron supports athletes who snub the White House, use fame to speak out

That’s the 84-year-old MLB Hall of Famer on athletes turning their professional sports platform into a political loudspeaker. Aaron, when asked, said he wasn’t so interested in visiting the White House either, if ever asked: “There’s nobody there I want to see,” he said at a ceremony for the Hank Aaron Champion for Justice Awards, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. President Trump uninvited the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles on the eve of their scheduled celebration at the White House earlier this month, citing the small contingent of players and team representatives that planned to attend. Trump has not hosted an NBA championship team to visit the White House since taking office, which some observers tie to outspoken comments by Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry and others.

this is not news, market watch.

hank aaron has long been swooning over the statists who pretend to care about the downtrodden.

he is a liberal from several years back.

sorry to say, because i think he was a class act as a player.

oh well.

So my otherwise non-racist friend who used some ‘colorful’ terms to describe his exceeding of Babe Ruth’s record...he was right, I guess.

He may be a victim of too many head injuries in the sport. Did they always wear helmets when batting back then?

I’m sure he’d have said something a lot different had an NHL team or whatever refused to attend the White House during the Obama regime.

When I was a boy in the 50’s you had Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, and Ernie Banks as my hero’s, of course Mickey Mantle was the king! You never hear Willy Mays or Ernie Banks make these kind of comments!

Free Speech does not include the right to disregard the demands of your employer ordering you to go to the White House.

Any athlete that refused those orders should be banned from their league.

He always was an ungracious arrogant a-hole. If you follow his public statements for the last 40 some odd years, he always loves to play the victim. It’s all about taking for this selfish loser. No giving back. Just all about what society owes him.

What if American slavery hadn't occurred?

What if, at the outset of the Founding, an amendment was written that abolished all slavery.

What would have happened to blacks today and their ancestors?

I'll tell you what would have happened.

They would have been mauled to death by animal predators in the African jungles.
Died of disease or starvation.
Killed by other rival African tribes.
Enslaved by other Africans or Middle Easterners.

Not defending slavery. It was evil and wrong. But can blacks say that they are better off here in America than if it hadn't happened?

I never knew that Nazi Pelosi had an "Uncle Hank's Cabin" out back of her DC mansion...

Wonder how old Hank looks dressed in a jockey suit, holding a lantern for Massa Nancy at night?

What a disappointingly shameful stereotype Hank Aaron is. Just goes to show, you can be great at sports despite having well below average intelligence.

Well then it's a good thing no one invited you, racist assclown!

No one had to move the fences in for Mickey Mantle.

It’s going to be interesting to see what happens for the 2018 World Series Champions and going to the White House.
