On June 8th it was posted on this blog that the office of White House Counsel Don McGahn had a request for the pardon of Dwight and Steven Hammond under review.
This was reported by Portland media outlet KATU.
Yesterday Congressman Greg Walden of Oregon, the Republican who represents the Hammonds in Congress, finally stood up on the House floor and called for their pardon.
The Associated Press quoted Walden as saying: "It's time for real justice, and President Trump can administer that."
Politicians don't stick their necks out and Congressman Walden's decision to speak now reinforces my sense that a pardon for the Hammonds may be imminent during the holiday period coming up when publicity will be muted.
Credit for the pardon will go to President Donald J. Trump but even more so to those who protested in early 2016 at the Oregon Standoff protest.
They stuck their necks out and put the Hammonds case on the map, the case of two ranchers forced back to federal prison a second time to serve five year mandatory sentences as terrorists for lighting a backfire to protect their land.
Thank You again to Ammon Bundy, Ryan Bundy, LaVoy Finicum (RIP), David Fry, Shawna Cox and dozens of others who will be primarily responsible when the pardon comes down as seems increasingly likely.

NO WAY. Some admitted to poaching and starting fires to cover it up. They have not come clean on this, apologized, whatever. No reason to remotely consider pardoning or commuting their sentences. Add to that the intrusions of the Bundy’s and others to stage armed insurrection, they all just need to deal with the consequences of their actions.
Sadly it’s too late for Lavoy Finicum to be pardoned

Why don’t you read the court records. If I recall correctly, the kid admitted that was what happened and why. The dad denied it. I realize that it doesn’t fit your narrative why are you ignoring this? Well, no point in relitigating this. They were convicted, in jail, and have not said anything or done anything to show remorse, offer restititution, or come clean.
So alleged poaching was supposedly covered up with a fire ? And for those reasons You are going to back up Murders by the fedz.

You do mix up lots of events to create your narrative. Waco, Ruby Ridge, Nevada, and Oregon are different events, with different circumstances. Further, the Bundy's from Nevada interjected themselves into the Hammond's case, incited and participated in armed insurrection. But don't let the facts mess up your fantasies and conspiracy theories, and anti-American BS.

Why don't you discuss the facts? Hammonds were convicted. They were poaching, they burned lands to cover it up. They were sent to jail. Which of those three are not true? None.
And the Bundy's came uninvited. They called for armed insurrection and under force of arms they occupied, vandalized, and destroyed federal property. In broader terms, they were terrorists. We should kill terrorists. They lucked out, only one died. Facts. Deal with facts.
And I don't see FR as forum to defend poaching, defend burning lands to cover crimes, to promote armed insurrection, to promote violence, vandalism, and destruction of public property. Heck, most of us conservatives rail at this when done by Antifa, Black Lives Matter, etc. The Bundys and their gang are no different. Again, facts.
