I wrote last night about the leaked Google video that confirms, once and for all, that Google is an arm of the Democratic Party. Now, word emerges that the Department of Justice has invited 24 state attorneys general to meet for the purpose of discussing possible antitrust actions against the dominant technology platforms:
On Thursday, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that nearly half of the state attorneys general would be invited to a September 25 meeting with U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions to discuss whether social media companies are violating anti-trust laws. The DOJ announced the meeting last week, following the congressional testimony of Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.
Following last weeks statement, the Justice Department received an increased level of interest from state attorneys general in attending the September 25 meeting on tech companies, competition, and free exchange of ideas, a DOJ spokesman told PJ Media on Thursday afternoon. Due to this increased interest, Sessions has invited more attorneys general.
Today, the Justice Department formally sent invitations to a bipartisan group of twenty-four state attorneys general that expressed an interest in attending the meeting hosted by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the spokesman added.
This could be a major headache for Facebook, Twitter, Google et al., but they have brought it upon themselves by arrogantly using their platforms to advance their own liberal political agendas. There is a basic problem, though: while several tech companies fit the legal definition of monopoly, antitrust law does not neatly apply to the free speech concerns that are swirling around the social media giants.

Break ‘em up!
Break ‘em up?! HELL NO! Shut ‘em down!!
They should of done it with the big airlines when United declared bankruptcy. Same with the big banks. Trump should go for it.
Heck, collapse their stocks by announcing that the government is going to set up the best services that replicate all those leftist socialist loving pos companies services.
Why not? Our military invented the damn internet, why can’t we replicate some stupid servers and code?
Good! As I have posted before, they have moved way beyond photos of their cats, etc.
They have become common carriers.
I’m on board!
Good idea.
Why can they not be treated like utilities? Verizon can’t deny service because they don’t like what you say.
Clinton DOJ investigated Microsoft INCESSANTLY!!
Emails seized, fines levied, etc. All in the name of anti-trust.
What the hell is the difference NOW with Google and Twitter?
Remember the software the feds wrote for Obamacare? How did that work out?

Do it! Show Nike how it’s done when it’s done right!
Are their environments a new version of public commons?
Are they public companies that have formal policies that were not followed or did they disproportionately hurt people of a certain race or orientation (white and straight)?
It doesn't matter whether the government hires incompetents directly or subcontracts to a whole company full of them. The IRS software associated with the premium tax credit crashed and burned. Whether this was done by their employees or a subcontractor doesn't matter. And a year or two ago when the Social Security Administration locked everyone out of their online account who didn't have a smart phone, this was the fault of an incompetent subcontractor (according to a guy I talked to who was in charge of accessibility compliance for SSA software).
With cash flows greater than most world governments they do not fit the definition of “private companies” but are more like nation-states.
and that is the reason these corporations should be destroyed, not merely broken up into pieces.
