Why is Francis, the fully Vatican-backed 266th Pope ignoring what the Catholic blogosphere is calling “the biggest crisis in the Catholic Church since Reformation” amidst continuing irrefutable proof that hundreds of Catholic clergy engage in regular sexual abuse and get away with it?
No pontiff can hide proof of truth like a lighted candle under a bushel, nor will refusing to discuss a scandal ever make it go away.
While I left the Catholic Church years ago for what I now realize were very minor reasons, I always felt that I’d return.
No longer. The gays have corrupted it perhaps beyond recovery. Perhaps the lay Catholics can save it, but we’ll see.
Austin Ruse, a convert to the Catholic faith, and President of the Center for Family and Human Rights, was asked about his response to the scandal during an interview with Marcus Grodi on the “Coming Home” show. His response, IIRC, was that there is no better time to be a Catholic, because we are to be active witnesses, and there is no better time than now.
I don’t see any way around devout Catholics needing to fully cooperate with police to put these abusing priests in prison, and supporting prison for any bishops who have any part in any coverup.
On the basis of the grace of God given at Baptism and continually streaming into the hearts of those who love Him, we are not supposed to run. We are supposed to be faithful, stand and fight. That's what Baptism and Confirmation are all about.

Yes, I agree. Efforts to correct from within the Church have been blocked. Not unprecedented, by the way, for civil authorities to intervene. Embarrassing, though, and should be a last resort.
We are in the times of last resort. The Church has had DECADES to fix the issue, and there is no sign that they are getting serious.
As far as I can see, my Bishop is NOT one of the wolves (or weasels) and my parish priests are good, upright and honest men. There's a strong level of mutual respect. I hate to see the whole priesthood tainted with this filth. But all in all, experience has shown the secular justice system is more likely to spring into action than the Catholic chancery office.
Which is a disgusting shame.
