Pay starts at $13.85 for the positions, which are permanent, with a second- and third-shift premium of $0.30 per hour... Lear expects to employ more than 600 employees when it reaches full production in 2019. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and be available to work any shift as well as weekends and overtime when needed. The job requires employees to perform physical activities, including being able to lift and carry heavy objects, stand for long periods of time, make quick repetitive movements with hands and wrists, and operate pneumatic tools. Once hired, employees must be able to pass a background check, physical demands test and hair-follicle drug screen.
The follicle test will be the main one to trip up applicants, at least in Flint, or fairly nearby Detroit. Most unemployed, underemployed, and substance abusers in Michigan do, I suspect, have a GED or even have graduated high school *and* can sign their names. Thanks 2ndDivisionVet.
