n an unsurprising move, the New York state authorities rejected a proposal for a new natural gas pipeline that would have supplied 400 million cu ft of natural gas daily to the state where energy demand is growing, but so is fossil fuel opposition on the highest political level.

Not really. This is what it means to respect the wishes of constituents.
Pssstt - cover Manhattan island with wind turbines. That’s the ticket!
Let them freeze in the dark.
Good. Let them freeze in the dark.
L
I was referring to the constituents.
got it, thanks.
I disagree. This is what happens when politicians ignore the wishes of constituents - except for the loudmouth minority that the pols agree with.

It will make for a lot of 2 cat nights. Idiots.
NYS wants to be the first to make every building green. Bunch of idiots.
How we produce electricity is changing. A nuke take over a thousand people to run. A coal plant 600-900. A gas powered (co-gen) turbine 3 men and many times no one is there but site is monitored.

I guess shutting down the Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant (about 2000 MW) within the next couple of years won’t be a problem. It is located about 35 miles up the Hudson River from New York City.
Reminds me of the TEXAS bumper sticker.
DRIVE LIKE HELL! FREEZE A YANKEE!
New York joins South Africa and Germany in getting rid of unfashionable fossil fuel power plants and even getting rid of them altogether in SA’s case.
