I'm a translator and I use SpanishDict.com in order to translate some words. I was fiddling around today and decided to see if "Donald Trump" had a translation in Spanish. In years past, we used to call George Bush "Jorge Arbusto" because that's the literal translation in Spanish.
Well, imagine my surprise this morning when I put in "Donald Trump" in the search bar -- the actual translation was "Orange" or "Naranja" (which is orange in Spanish).
I screenshot it on my iPhone, but do not know how to post images onto Free Republic. I'm hoping someone goes to the site and screenshots it for me.
GO TO: www.spanishdict.com
In Search bar (where it states "Translate Spanish or English"), type the words: Donald Trump.
Click the green button that says "Translate".
Voilá! The "Orange/Naranja should show up.
However, when you translate "Barack Obama" there's no translation but there are many examples of sentences with the words "Barack Obama" that make him look like a King.
No respect for Our President Donald Trump! TRUMP2020!
Cute.
One of the uses of the English “trump” (as in a card game) is as an alteration of “triumph.” (I like that.) In Spanish, “triunfo.”
Since Trump is German, the verb is “trumpfen”, which is also used as “trump” in English for a card game.
Then we have “trump” as in the sound of a trumpet, related to Old French “trompe.” In Spanish, according to the translator I used, “tronco.”
Donaldo Triunfo. Donaldo Tronco.
One more thing. I think Donald is pretty much Donald in any language that uses it.
But what about the origins of Donald? From the Proto-Celtic “Dumno-ualos”, meaning “world leader.”
Excellent analysis — thank you!
Lemme guess: top results were all Black, Latino, gay, etc.
They also are biased against Republicans. Put the word Republican and look at the examples in sentences. Bizarre!

if you put in “trump card” or simply “trump” and Translate you get “triunfo” so the bogus translation is tied specifically to “Donald Trump”
Yup! I typed it in — and I saw what happened there!
