The trouble with too many fast-food restaurants is that they're often so close together.
It's like car dealers who line up in auto malls, waiting for customers to greet each brand in turn, as if it's a wedding line.
With the fast-food joints, rivals can see what the competition is doing by just looking out of the window. Which makes me wonder what the staff at McDonald's are going to be thinking next year.
You see, one of McDonald's peskier rivals -- Wendy's -- just announced that it's going to start doing something that may seem a touch obvious.
It's going to start offering breakfast at all of its 5,900 U.S. restaurants.
Wendy's describes this as "an incredible growth opportunity."

Love me a good baked potato. Especially when I don’t have to cook it myself.
Now all Wendy’s needs is onion rings.
Hardees has good biscuits, and we have Bojangles near which has great biscuits (country ham!)
“Arbys has a very nice senior discount if you qualify.”
I qualify. It cannot possibly suck enough.
;^)

Clean the restaurant?
In our time, McDonalds and Hardees are across the street from each other. For breakfast, the liberal geezers hang out at Hardees, and conservative geezers go to McDonalds. They do NOT mix.
When McDonalds was closed three months for re-building, conservatives went to another town instead of holding their noses and going to Hardees temporarily.
I have fried eggs and whole-milk yogurt with berries swirled in.
Sound like too much trouble? Well I do all this in exactly 7 minutes and that includes clean up. The key is having a quality non-stick pan for the eggs. Rinses clean with a little hot water and I'm done. Even the dishes are in the dishwasher before I'm out the door.
I say this to make the point that making breakfast at home is easy and much cheaper. Also much healthier.
I hope they come up with something better than those hockey pucks McCraps sells. Better yet support your local diner.
Like all those coffee places everywhere. Never go to them or fast food, have not for years. Obviously a lot do eat and drink that stuff.
I hesitate to make an example of one, but the single time I ever ate at a Wendy’s the burger was bone dry, tough and tasteless. That was in the 80’s so that was a 35 year bad burger experience.
Wendy’s burgers used to be good when they were “hot and juicy”. Now they’re just dry and rubbery.
Got that right. I got food poisoning from their burgers. Never again!
The chili is yesterdays hamburgers. LOL
See...no one seems to remember: Wendys already DID do breakfast. And it was a flop.
IIRC, it was in the 90’s when they tried it. It went nowhere, and they stopped it.
It’s kinda funny. A few years ago, Chick-fil-A hired a company to survey people about fast food breakfasts to see where they ranked. According to the poll they took, more people ranked Wendys over CFA for breakfasts...and Wendys didn’t even HAVE a breakfast menu. It made the folks at CFA change their marketing for their breakfast menus.
Really late to the party. MickyD and BK have had breakfast for years. And Jack, which I’ve never gone to in my home town. And What-a-Burger.
I seriously doubt if Wendy is going to be a major concern to McD on this front.
Really?
You can see through a McDonald’s patty.
Total sht food.
The spitters are like, dude this totally sucks as it is, no need.
There are a couple of Hardees in Virginia Beach that have Square Dancing and live Bluegrass nights ,( never took that in personally ), but theyre packed when they do have it.
I’m a food snob, only eat organic stuff and grass-fed beef.
BUT I really enjoy a McDonald’s burger in a pinch. i.e: after four hours with the dentist in my mouth, only a McDonald’s burger would do because I needed to go home to sleep and not cook. Their coffee is actually very good and I like their milkshakes a lot. I have 2 or 3 milkshakes per year.
