For me, mayo never is acceptable. Ditto for sour cream.

Mayo is great, Miracle Whip is even better with half the calories. Thbbft!

Yes, but that’s completely independent of the BLT question. Do you eat your BLTs dry? Mustard? Seriously, everyone puts mayo on BLTs, on white toast.

That’s how we eat them, but if you’ve never had a blt sub, try one; they’re yummy. (You do have to order extra bacon, to make up for the extra bread.)

Ham and cheese or ham and mayo?
There’s your answer.

"Do you put mayo on beef hamburgers? That would explain a lot"

Oh, yeah. And ketchup, too. Doesn't Burger King do that with their Whoppers? Yummm. Maybe not the mustard, but definitely mayo and ketchup, yes?

"In the 1950’s, we didn’t use lettuce and tomatoes. "

You guys should try just the lettuce and tomato; I'm serious. Put mayo on the toast, line with the tomato and lettuce, and dig in. It is REALLY good. Course, it has to be garden tomatoes, NOT the store bought. Try it - you won't be disappointed.

It's obvious you haven't seen the movie.

The scene about the "Hold the Chicken" is one of the classic movie quotes by a true legend, Jack Nicholson.

Thanks. No, I hadn't - hadn't even heard of that movie; which is funny cuz I used to be a movie buff.

I'm particular about tomatoes. I like to buy them at farmers' markets. I especially like Japanese tomatoes, which are more pink than red, and Roma tomatoes. Virtually all Roma tomatoes available in super markets are from Mexico and don't have much taste, but the home-grown ones that I buy are really delicious.

You put Mayo on a BLT, Mustard on a Hot Dog and Ketchup on a Hamburger as the good Lord intended.

Even when I was a kid, I didn't like mustard on hamburgers. Mustard is for meat products with robust flavors like hot dogs or German sausages. I would never put mayo on a bratwurst.
