That’s part of it. The other part is on the other side of town: pussy hat wearers, reds in the teacher’s union, media that gush over and propagandize every “progressive” cause, ethnic whites who started voting when JFK was president and haven’t noticed how their party has changed, etc.

I lived in Hegewisch (far SE tip of Chicago) for 12 years, then hopped the border into Lake County, Indiana in 2013

Not downstate where I live but Chicago runs everything, and downstate is being taken over by illegal immigrants. I just retired and Wil be leaving this summer.

In the early 70’s, I went to college with a girl from Hegewisch. I always enjoyed pronouncing it HEGG WISH! : )
It’s named for a man who had a rolling stock factory there. I liked it. It’s quiet and more spacious than most Chicago neighborhoods: many houses built on double lots, and no problems parking on the street. It’s starting to look a little run down these days, though, as the old Eastern Europeans have moved on.
There used to be a guy who called in pretty much every day to WLS talk shows — “Carl from Hegewisch.” A real character. Little did I know that some day I would live there too.
When pigs fly.....evidently Trump is getting more support from blacks but the demonrats will just ratchet up their fraud to offset this...after the dnc and the clinton cabal eviscerate Bernie, if he runs as a 3rd party candidate he could give IL to Trump...

I confess I didn’t hop on board the Trump train that day. It took me a few weeks before I was all in. Some of my friends still think I’m nuts, LOL! I am.
