How crucial was those 2 seats we picked up in 2018!

How crucial was those 2 seats we picked up in 2018!Yes. That was the "blue wave" of 2018, or so we're told. Yet the GOP increased their senate majority and shedded some RINO baggage like Jeff Flake and Paul Ryan.

I’m extremely skilled in that line of work, I wonder if it pays well? I’d have to give up my lifestyle though, but in this day and age, there are so many changes that nothing will be the same.

RE: The US Senate voted 51-38
The title said 51-48
Which is it?
If 51-48, that’s just 99 senators. Who did not vote?

You nailed it. There’s no peaceful solution at this point, this was known a long time ago.
Things maybe could of been rectified in the early 70s, but it’s too far gone now.

the real vote to confirm will come tomorrow night after the thirty hours is up What the hell is the point of these arcane, stupid rules?
If the days of horse and buggy and railroad as major transportation, maybe they made sense, but today?

She represents Alaska, not Alabama.

Murkowski is a bald-face liar... She said she would vote FOR this nomination... alas, she lied (nothing new).
She’s said all along that she opposes pushing any nomination through at this time. FWIW, it’s not actually a vote against Barrett. Not that I don’t expect a betrayal after.

She will be Senator from Alaska as long as she wants to be. Maybe. Or maybe she just needs a slid Republican opponent like Sarah Palin. I heard that Joe Whatizname who lost was a weird candidate along the lines of that Roy Moore guy who lost the Alabama special election to Doug Jones.

Yes, she won by some 2,000 votes that were contested in court. Joe Miller should be the Senator except for her name recognition, and the Democrat media and big money wanting to defeat a Sarah Palin endorsed Tea Party candidate.
Voting against a Supreme Court nominee as qualified as Amy Coney Barrett could cause her to lose the next election. I expect her to vote yes.

“Collins needed to because she comes from such an obtuse electorate.”
That is right. Collins comes from a very mixed district. When she voted for Kavanaugh, which was courageous, she probably knew it could cause her to lose in this 2020 election. Now she is confronted again with having to vote or not for Any Barrett. I suspect highly, as she could very well lose this time around, that she has been promised a position in gov’t if she votes for Amy and then loses her election. That’s the trade-off, her vote for Amy in return for a job if she loses her election. It’s called horse-trading. Of course if Trump loses, then all bets are off and she will have to find a new job on her own. But I’m sure some Pub donor or organization will take care of her even then.

Murkowski said she will vote no on the procedural votes, but on Monday she will vote yes when the nomination is voted out of the full Senate.

To: TheBattman
She didn’t vote against the nomination. She voted against moving it to the floor for a final vote. Probably an authorized CYA dissent. Let’s see what she does tomorrow before we drag her out in front of a firing squad, eh?
