Collins is almost seventy, so I doubt she would want a government job.
If she loses, she gets a humungous pension with the best of medical insurance.
So, I'll bet she just retires, picking up pin money here and there from speaking engagements, TV gigs, ribbon-cutting, etc....as most high-ranking political people do after retirement.
Nobody will have to have a Tag Day for Senator Collins.
