Many, probably most, Texans hadn’t heard of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas until this week. Then a historic winter storm froze up the place and “electric reliability” turned into an unfunny joke for far too many. Their electricity was reliably unavailable.
Texans are getting to know the 50-year-old council and are not liking what they’re learning. For one thing, about a third of its members don’t even live in Texas.
Well, now that the glare has turned on ERCOT, it has removed the board members’ names from its website. They’re gone. They were all there earlier in the week.
And now its board has disappeared itself precisely when Gov. Abbott and everyone else in the state is demanding transparency.

As I posted on another thread:
At least part of this is an attempt by the media to make those rebellious folks in Texas, like Gov. Abbott, look dangerous and irresponsible.
Stand by for the media taking on those killer sharks that DeSantis in Florida has carelessly allowed to endanger us all.
And certainly the menace of rabid bears that the ignorant Governor of South Dakota has kept hidden from the populace.
And, soon to come, the horrors of Oklahoma and Iowa.

Nobody is irresponsible for this anymore that George Bush was responsible for the effects of Katrina.
Karma is a bitch but her sister, Mother Nature, just gets out of control sometimes.
Everything worked fine for 30 years since the last event and I lived in Tulsa when that one happened.
No big deal. Lost power for 3 days.
Gas heater and Hibachi turned it another camping experience.
I have lots of stories about Mother Nature exerting her will.
Mudslides in the the Santa Cruz Mountains, tornadoes, ice and red winds in Oklahoma.
Even snow and ice making it impossible to go North, South, East or West in Greenville/Wilmington, DE because there are hills, uphill, to go anywhere and the roads were impossible to travel. Whatever.

I would place some blame on obama and the renewable energy crap. EPA going against coal and subsidizing solar/wind which is highly variable as we now see.
In 2018 alone, ERCOTT shut down 5,000 MW of coal power.

The Stalinazi Satanist media is so predictably banal in their evil. Anything to distract the public from the Chinese puppet Plugs the Pedo in the White House (who IS responsible for coordinating federal help for disasters, and this creep can’t manage pulling the lid off his cup of rice pudding).

Apparently Hell has also frozen over, the media is incensed about a Hispanic crossing the Mexican border.

Distraction from everything involving this clumsy, ongoing Democrat coup has become their sacred mission. Especially since millions more — even, finally, the low-info — are realizing what’s going on every day.

I kinda agree...they need to physically live in the state, and it can’t be a condo where they show up 30 days out of the year. I’d give each one six months to find the appropriate residence and show a utility bill that they are registered there. Then I’d warn them...if you play the ‘pretend-game’ and spend six months out of the year in NY City...you will be terminated.

They need to be reminded:

Stupid is as stupid does. No one gets it!Federal and state governments are heading us to a disaster with this global warming fatalism. U want to live or do u want to die; pretty easy choice.
A major plant, coal or nuclear takes 15 years to build, so what are u going to do for work when your company has no electricity? Food needs electricity to be made.
The frog’s been cooked!
Have a hunch, bet a bunch.

Seriously...the chair’s first name is Craven?,,, Beyond that, this is truly a once in a lifetime storm and people are suffering. Work on the relief both immediate and long term. This organization will face legitimate scrutiny/penalty/remedy but even 8f it were pristine, I don’t see what could have prevented an event like the impact this storm has had.

*Somebody* is responsible for spending millions of dollars on Wind power in Texas.
Not only is Wind power terribly expensive, it freezes up in cold weather.
