Only if I’m dragged there by someone else who is paying.
Well I’m not excited about ‘real’ Italian cooks. I prefer the Americanized versions. However I prefer true Chinese dishes over the Americanized versions..much richer in flavor and body.
When I lived in FL, I knew a guy who's S Korean wife worked in Olive Garden's test kitchen.
Why would anyone go to Olive garden? ๐๐
Went there in the 70s when they had the salad bar (I think). Brought my 3 little animals with me. LOL...Well they ate like pigs. All teens...could never fill them up.
AS a 3rd gen Sicilian, Olive Garden is Italian, is like saying James Caan was Italian in the Godfather. However, as long as you enjoy your food with great company, that’s worth the experience.
I think the most underappreciated restaurants and form of cooking is Portuguese.
I have occasionally grazed there. My preference is a local italian place however it is much more expensive than Olive Garden. So there are tradeoffs and I am not a lofty purist on such things.
EVERYTHING served at Olive Garden it trucked in frozen, heated up and served - except salad.
Yeah right, and everyone of Irish descent eats Luckt Charms.
The only thing the real Italian couple liked was the Tiramisu. I do like some good Tiramisu.
They didn’t spare anything regarding the rest of the cuisine. “Burn the place down,” “decapitate,” “imprison.” Gotta love Italians but they sure don’t know how to choose a government.
Unfortunately, Olive Garden is as woke as Starbucks and Coke.

Mexican food even moreso. Mexican everyday average family table food is 100X better than the best American version, even when prepared by Mexicans. Something happens when the recipes and cooks come north. Lard as a key ingredient is just one small part.
They used to have a soup and salad special that wasn’t bad. Never had anything else on the menu.
My next post: a spectacular dessert. Nothing to do with Olive Garden.
Sysco italian, bagged and tagged.
The Olive Gardens near me always have a long waiting line at lunch - mostly the over 70 crowd for the Senior Lunch
If I get dragged there I get salad. On occasion someone will let me have their soup-or-salad side order so I end up with all you can eat soup and salad, but their soups are just so-so. Their breadsticks are actually decent but have to avoid those carbs.
