The truth about Bucha is out there, but perhaps too inconvenient to be discovered
The Russia Times ^ | 4-4-2022 | Scott Ritter

It should be easy to find out what really happened to the massacred civilians in the Ukrainian town.

The truth about Bucha is out there, but perhaps too inconvenient to be discovered A woman walks in Bucha, in the outskirts of Kyiv, Ukraine, Sunday, April 3, 2022.

“In war, truth is the first casualty.” This quote has been attributed to Aeschylus, a 6th BCE Greek tragedian noted for his “copious use of imagery, mythic allusion, grand language, wordplay and riddles.” It is only fitting, therefore, that the man who first gave word to the concept of modern-day war-time propaganda would see his quote come to life in the present-day Ukraine. The Kiev government and their Western information warfare advisers may have coopted all of Aeschylus’ playwright devices to craft a modern-day tragedy in the Ukrainian town of Bucha that exemplifies the notion of the lie as not just a byproduct, but also a weapon of war.

The main source of the Bucha tragedy reports is a videotape, taken by the Ukrainian National Police, of one of their convoys driving through a street in the town. A dozen or so corpses litter the roadway, many of them appearing to have been bound. This video has gone viral...

... The linkage between the dead and the Russian military was established immediately, without any fact-based data to back it up, and subsequently echoed in all forms of media... ... Social “preconditioning” of an audience unused to critical thinking is an essential step in getting this audience to accept at face value anything that is put before it, regardless of how egregiously the facts of the story strain credulity. And let’s be clear – the Ukrainian narrative of the events in Bucha seems to stretch credibility...

Do you know who Vladimir Zhirinovsky was? He accidentally let slip the exact date and time he’d been given for the Russian invasion of Ukraine, months before it happened.

Despite apparently having had over eight COVID jabs he fell ill and Russia has just announced that he has carked it. I’d check him for polonium if I were his doctor.

So I’d love to hear Russia explain themselves properly under cross-examination at the UN, but the fact is that would require the Russian representative to be in the dock answering questions, not grandstanding as the prosecutor and trolling the Ukrainian representative with fatuous nonsense.

Russia has petitioned to have Ukraine put in the dock to presumably explain why they flattened their own cities with a combination of banned cluster bombs they’ve never had, fired from bombers they didn’t have, or cruise missiles they also don’t have, fired from ships in the Black Sea which we know don’t exist.

If Russia’s on the prosecution stand it doesn’t have to answer any questions that get fired back.

If anyone really thought Russia was being sincere, I wouldn’t put it past them to not know how to sit the right way round on a toiletcwitjout being told by the Kremlin. It really was so frivolous, vexatious, and shameless a request, no diplomat in their right mind would’ve said yes.

Saying yes wouldve been like allowing the Nazi leadership to preemptively derail Nuremberg by accusing Jewish politicians of inciting genocide while creating fake news via lots of budding actors on a crisis acting mission using a set cunningly disguised as a holiday camp.

Come on, ffs.

inflicting maximum damage on its services, infrastructure and people.

If that was the case, Ukraine would cease to exist, along with its actor president.

I wouldn’t be surprised if some from The FR Ukranian Caucus flagged his posts. And proud of it, censoring someone for “disinformation!” I’m sure they would censor me right here if they could.

In general, as a rule, whoever demands censorship loses the argument. They can’t let their logic and reasoning stand on its own. Because it can’t. And you can’t find a still-free and thriving State once censorship takes hold. All dictators demand it, and get it, though.

“Cui Bono?

Who benefits? Do the Russians benefit by leaving behind a bunch of corpses of people who had obviously been bound before being executed and then blaming it on the Kiev government - or does the Kiev government/Globalist side benefit by doing so and blaming it on the Russians?

Who would the Western media be more likely to believe?”

Very well said, and can’t be argued with. So they’ll shout you down instead.

“In one of the videos I saw a “dead guy” was moving around as armored cars passed. Supposedly he had been dead for six weeks.

It’s a MIRACLE I tell ya!”

Lol. They can be so stupid sometimes. Like the dead Palestinian kids who keep appearing year after year.

I saw a recent brief clip in Ukraine where a truck passes by bodies, people filming inside, and in the rear view mirror after they passed a ‘dead guy,” he gets up!

But the mam and our IC would never lie to us.

“Propaganda is an important part of war and of morale during war. I don’t fault either side for their propaganda. I do feel that those who are not participants should be cautious in trying to separate fact from propaganda.”

Your entire post was excellent. Thanks for that. We need more historical points of view here.

“The tragedy here is how ignorant and gullible the masses are. That they repeatedly fall for it - didn’t we just come out of Covid? And here we are with the same crap.

Where was this news when for the last 7 years you had Russian minorities mistreated in eastern Ukraine? “

So true, and the msm and gullible masses turn on a dime. Look at msm stories from 2 years ago, about Azov and how they were killing Russian civilians in Crimea and Dunbass for 8 years!!! And they were NAZIs then, but not now?

Disappeared down the memory hole. Now it’s, “Well, they’re not that bad, for NAZIs...” and “What dead Russian civilians? You’re a Putin Stooge!”

Newsflash: The media’s corrupt.

Newsflash: Ukraine is corrupt.

Newsflash — and apparently this is news to some: Russia shouldn’t be across the border on an unprovoked mission of death and destruction.

The first two newsflashes don’t mitigate the fact that Russia is destroying a country and killing innocent people — including their own.

I didn’t think we could top the Q folks here at Free Republic.

I was apparently very wrong…

This was the tweet that got him suspended.

FWIW, I've never seen an account suspended on Twitter for telling lies, only unpopular truths.

And when the truth finally comes out, they won’t reinstate him, either. That’s their method.

Rusdia has warned that there will be an atrocity carried out by Ukraine at 6pm today, in a town that is currently under full Russian control.

Unless they’re planning on committing the atrocity themselves, this statement makes no sense.

Why would Ukraine tell them 24 hours in advance?

If the Russians know what’s coming and it’s going to happen on their turf, couldn’t they, er, make an effort to prevent it or limit it?

Also, German surveillance has apparently recorded chatter over Russian troop lines where soldiers retreating from Bucha have chatted with each other about the atrocities THEY committed. By all accounts it’s very detailed about how they brutalized specific individuals whose bodies have already been identified.

Assuming they must know Russian c&c is listening, they obviously aren’t worried about being reprimanded for violating the Geneva Convention.

Assuming they’re not stupid, they must be aware that Western listeners are hearing everything they say.

Smart money is on them literally giving confessions direct to those who can pass it on to the UN and ICC, and making sure their chain of command has a tough job (a) denying it happened, (b) arguing that they didn’t know about it, or (c) arguing that it was against orders.

Of vourse the plan os to ensure Ukraine ceases to exist. Have you completely missed all the evidence all the way from Zhirinovsky’s book in 1995 through the 2014-2022 occupations that ALL explain what Russia wants to happen in Ukraine?

Are you do dense that you buy that Azov bullcrap? Russian elites have been calling for Ukraine to disappear off the map and for its citizens to be dragged to Siberia (and Alaska!) for DECADES.

Azov Battalion, the main neo-Nazi sub-branch of the Ukrainian military, formally recognized as an actual part of the military? That Azov Battalion?

Yep. Azov. The world’s biggest ever straw man, the lazy armchair general’s reason for thinking Putin Had A Point.

Facts:

1. Azov was a volunteer batallion formed from the Patriot of Ukraine gang in Mariupol, which AT ITS PEAK had of ~900–1500 members, the majority of its members were foreign sign-ups including Russians - and, specifically, Russian neo-nazi nationalists. It was allied to the neo-nazi Social-National Assembly. Its primary mission was to push Russian troops back into Russia. For two years it had a political wing.

Poroshenko was responsible for incorporating Azov into the National Guard in November 2014 (and he was glowing with praise for them). Ironically, Azov loathed him - in 2014 the Azov head mouthpiece said, “President Petro Poroshenko will be killed in a matter of months, and a dictator will come to power.” While they did benefit greatly from the profile between 2014 and 2018 (e.g. by being able to expand their influence into Kiev) their political support actually CRUMBLED in the 2019 election.

In 2019, Azov lost its major allies in government - including Biletsky. Zelenskyy was the polar opposite of what this TINY minority within a minority were hoping for in a new president. Neo-nazism got totally trounced at the ballot box.

So when Russia makes a huge song and dance about Axov, one should consider that Ukraine now has ten times as many Nazis fighting there today than there were in 2014. Why? Because this “special operation” to “de-nazify” Ukraine overlooks the fact that most of the Nazis in Ukraine today are in Russian uniforms, fighting on Putin’s side.

Azov only exists because Viktor Yanukovych gave the nod to Putin to annex Crimea and invade eastern Ukraine.
Russia’s invasion of eastern Ukraine motivated the Azov leadership - whose home town is Mariupol - to fight back.
Russia’s nazis and Azov nazis fighting each other is the only reason Azov had eight years of training.
Russia’s invasion is the reason why Azov is full of veteran fighters.

If Russia really had wanted to de-nazify Ukraine in February, the simplest and easiest way to do it would’ve been to pull back its forces and chuck a big bag of cash at Kyiv. Zelenskyy is no nazi, but the idea he could ever close Azov down when Azov is literally the only force in Mariupol that scared the Russian invaders is totally for the birds.

Nope, didn’t know. Good. He’s jot a conservative, and anti-MAGA, but a straight shooter on stuff like this.

I watched the first 45 mins of a rumble vid yesterday where he gives a great analysis on Russia Ukraine war. Dumbfounded that we’re being sooo lied to.
