The failure is with the voters who keep sending them there!
Most voters couldn’t tell you the difference between a republic and a democracy. They send politicians who will give them a turn at getting their snouts in the taxpayer trough!
It is because they want to anger the mob and use them to further their own interests.
I’d argue the dims do want a true democracy with the abolition of the EC.
Because they lie about everything.

In reality, however, they are arguing for a continuation of the oligarchy because they control the media, academia, corporate boardrooms, etc. They can use their experience in marketing to convince a majority of the electorate to vote for what benefits the oligarchy.
When the electorate fails to do so, they just rig the election to get the result they want.

Thank you. I have been screaming about this for years. It’s too easy to call it a democracy because it sounds a lot like Democrat. A lot of people will confuse the two names and likely started the use of it until it got settled into people’s heads. Please correct anyone using that word. We are in fact a Constitutional Republic. We have come way too close to Democracy. If we can not get the thinking straight we will lose our Republic and America will fall exactly the same as Rome. Please every conservative bury the word democracy. Let us restore and protect our Republic.

That’s a great comeback, every time someone says that word.
Reminds me of Project Insight from the Captain America movie The Winter Soldier (SHIELD, actually Hydra having a list of people who MIGHT present a problem in the future so they were going to use three heli-carriers to eliminate them now).
They also changed their party from “Democrat” to “Democratic” so there is that.
My grandfather just called them “CommieCrats”.
Some people say it’s a representative republic.
