Charley Pride was a great American.
A professional ball player at 17 years of age.
Country Music's Jackie Robinson.
He adhered to the faith that God is in charge of all.
He said that there's worse things than being thought Republican ........

You betcha. In my teen years in the 60s, my favorite country singers were Charley Pride and Waylon Jennings. Didn’t find out until a few years ago that they were close buddies.

I met Mr. Pride briefly after a concert in Biloxi. He was a warm, humble man. Love his voice. ‘Roll on Mississippi’ is a favorite.

Buck was never the same after Don died. I had sweaty eyes when I heard it on KNIX in Phoenix that night. Don was one of a kind.
