The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) policy to increase diversity, equality, and inclusiveness in its workforce may make flying more risky. Part of the diversity being sought is to employ more people with severe intellectual disabilities, psychiatric problems, and other mental and physical ailments.
Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg pointed out that "people with severe mental and physical disabilities are the most underrepresented segment of the federal workforce. We must address this inequity. In my opinion, the increased risk is minimal in comparison with the greater good that will be accomplished by giving persons who might otherwise be unemployable the feeling that they are making a contribution to society."
Elon Musk wondered "whether people who fly would make the same trade-off of safety for the 'feel good slogans' touted by daft politicians like Buttigieg?"

I’m gonna buy a spare nose wheel.
I hear tell that, there is a proposal in congress (by democrats) to DEI marriages.
IOW, to insure that there are more mixed marriages: blacks with white; gays/lesbians with straights; etc.
To do that, people won’t be allowed to date before marriage. They’ll have to pick blindly from a box, and whatever comes up, that’s who (or what) you’ll have to marry. If you don’t marry what you picked blindly, you’ll be accused of discrimination and could be indicted and/or forbidden from any kind of marriage in the future.
You must be obedient to the Diversity/Equity/Inclusion rules. Or else!

What we need to do to test thia idea out to achieve some equity for folks with severe mental problems is hire some flight controllers with schizophrenia to work on days when Congresscritters will be going home to their districts.
The problem of DEi will be solved very shortly.
