You dont need evidence to have the appearance of impropriety and create loss of confidence in the system.
The Judge in the case BLATANTLY favored the side where “friends” and close acquaintances were representing. It was blatant bias. Refusing to allow evidence, refusing to allow for certain blatantly exculpatory items to be brought in. It was biased from day 1. Then rulings were ludicrous and only explainable by blatant bias.
I was speaking more broadly in response to a broad brush criticism of lawyers and judges as a class.
By the way, this has already been dropped. So the grain of salt was justified.
