History was made. Enough said.
And no 3 point shots back then
I’m tired of her coverage at this point
She's a great player. But it's still women's basketball. Nothing wrong with that. I have relatives who are big fans of the sport. I have been to women's basketball games in person so I respect the sport.
But we should be honest.
Aw BS. She has been all over including the 24 hour news channels. Quit being a snowflake.
Absolutely huge in CT.
lol. Cmon now.
She proceeded to perform a TALL order
Yeah but she’s also cute but I am a dirty old man (70)
Caitlin is a woman basketball player who plays on an all-woman team in an all-woman league. She may be six feet tall (so what, some men players are seven feet tall) so she is not some "trans-man" pretending to be a woman so he can excel at a sport he sucked in when playing with other men.
So we should be celebrating Caitlin's achievement. She's a real woman who is a basketball superstar among women.
Half dozen on her team are taller than her.
Ok….
Two technicals? The Lady Buckeyes let the game slide away on calls. Head games took them out. Gotta handle that kind of pressure too.
PS. Records are made to be broken. Next up, Juju Watkins USC (F) watch.
They’re upset cause a woman set the record. I guess it would have been okay for a tranny (fake woman)
All white?
She is the one to watch the next couple years.
I’m not really into women’s basketball but my 88 year old father has been since UConn started winning a lot when he was in ct and I end up hearing a lot about it.
“ You mean a white straight female.”
I didn’t think that they were allowed to play sports anymore.
No they’re not all white, but definitely Midwestern looking.
Comparing Clark and Maravich is really apples to oranges. Both of them are outstanding for various reasons. It really is like the argument of the greatest HR hitter in MLB history. Many people will say Babe Ruth because of the sheer dominance he had over everyone else even though Bonds has the most in the final tally.
Arguments are over shots per game with Clark and Maravich. Yes he took many more and each one was worth two points. An LSU official went back over the shot charts that they had kept for Pete’s games and awarded that extra point for what would have been a 3 in today’s game. Pete would have averaged 57 a game based on the data! While the charts may have not been precise, one could safely say he would have been around 52-53 PPG. The discrepancy in FGA pretty much disappears right there if he is averaging 24-25 points per game more than her. Wow. Also, remember that the women play with a smaller ball. How many baskets did Pete lose due this fact that Clark had an extra 2 inches of space to utilize? It also would make his shooting percentages lower.
It is not my intention to bring Clark’s achievements down. What I mean to point out is how incredible Maravich was. LSU was not a good team when he arrived. Pete made them respectable. It is a shame they didn’t have a 64-68 team tourney field back when he played. So many great players never got to showcase their talents to the country.
Yes he was and at 6'4" he was considered tall for that time. And what other noteworthy players did he compete against that made it into the NBA?
Pete's college days and competition are antiquated in comparison to the quality of both men's and women's college basketball of today......
Could he have accomplished what he did in his prime against today's players who are bigger, faster, stronger and able to sink 3 pointers with ease? Sure, he was ahead of his time, but today, Not likely........
