I haven’t read all the posts, but, FYI, if it’s a bee, you may see a thin strip of “white stuff” where the stinger would be.

LOL. You've seen Rush. With all his fur, the only time I've seen his skin was last year when he was hit by the motorcycle.

I love you named him Rush. Great choice!

Um...I should have said “on the bee...” That would bee its little guts hanging out its little butt.

Glad doggy is o.k.!

You might make sure you keep some Benadryl in the doggy first aid kit, with a note on it of the correct dose for dogs. I have a card of the capsules in the kit in my dog training bag, with a paper label stuck to the back giving the per pound and # of capsule doses.

That looks too fat for a yellow jacket. How big is it? Can you put a ruler next to the corpse? Can you stretch the little rascal out relatively straight?

Yes, I will keep Benadryl on hand from now on.

I’d say they were about 1/2” long, but I didn’t keep any.

The one I photographed yesterday, I had dug out of the garbage. It didn’t occur to me to measure it. Of course it’s head was kind of smashed in.;-)

We love Rush Limbaugh, and when we found our puppy, it was obvious what we should call him.

He was a harmless, lovable, little fuzz ball.

;-D

In all the excitement yesterday, I didn't think to post a picture of him.

Here he is at 7 weeks...

And here he is sailing this summer.....

He'll be two in October.

I am still thrilled with how everyone came through with helpful advice, and support. Thank you all so much.

Thanks Trisham.

I think his thick fur helped him yesterday.

:-)

Thank you for the update.

My apologies for my nasty remark yesterday.

Hopefully you understand that I was worried about Rush and what seemed to be the immediate lack of emergency care.

I was overly distraught that your husband considered you overreacting, and the worse thing (I found) is that you listened to him.

But then, that was yesterday; and miraculously, everything turned out well.

What a beautiful, beautiful pet.

Please keep us posted on his continued recovery.

My best regards.

What a BEAUTIFUL pup and those eyes!! My kitties have very, very blue eyes - they are so pretty. I’m happy Rush is doing fine.

No worries.

I appreciated the concern.

If Rush had gone into shock, we are way too far out of town to have made it anywhere, in time.
We are just lucky he was OK.

In Hubby’s defence, he did save Rush last October when he was run over by a motorcycle. The vet said he had saved his life by putting a tourniquet on his leg, and getting him in so fast. Of course that was a weekday, and the vet was only 15 mins. away.

Anyway, my Hubby tends to be the more level headed of the two of us, and that has served us well for 28 years now.
;-)

I’m sorry people snapped at you, yesterday.

Yes, he was/is. What a handsome guy! Rush is the perfect name for him. : )

We love Rush Limbaugh here too!

Nice looking dog! Aussie?

I'm glad he's o.k. I'm sure that his heavy fur protected him from a lot of the stings, and the fact that most of the nasties washed right off in the shower indicates that not too many of them got all the way down to the skin.

I have two Labs in Basic Black and Basic Brown.

Hubby came in while I was looking at the pics of Rush.

He said, “That’s a pretty dog.” I told him the story of what happened, and about Rush jumping into the bathtub. Ha.

He’s a smart dog too. : )

No, unfortunately I don’t know how to get them on my puter. The pics of my mutts on my homepage were taken by my niece and emailed to me. Next time she’s here I’ll have her take pics of the kitties.
