In what has been described as one of the biggest heists in American history, the Empire State Building was reportedly stolen this week by a New York City newspaper in less than 90 minutes.
The New York Daily News drew up fake documents, created a bogus notary stamp and filed paperwork with the city and successfully took ownership of the $2 billion property on Monday.

And will someone be prosecuted for creating false documents and theft by fraud, and so on?
And the perp got just one year's probation! I'm in the process of buying a house and the number of corrupt real estate agents and stuck flippers hoping to scam someone is unreal. My purchase is being held up because a third party real estate agent claims the title is his. They pull these high dollar scams because the risk of jail time is very low.
I love my town too, even with corrupt pols and out of control taxes. But, no place in America is safe anymore.
