President Obama's Birthplace - A national monument?

Posted on 01/22/2009 8:58:37 AM PST by deks

President Barack H. Obama’s biographers will need to know a little more than is currently known about his birth. After all, the presidential birthplace should be a national monument. Preparations should be started now to preserve it. Where is the house in which he was born? Or was it a hospital, I can’t remember?

Since Obama is one of our youngest presidents, the midwife who assisted the birth should still be alive. Historians and journalists would like to interview her. Wait, was it a doctor who attended the birth of our first black president? What was his name?

Oh, you could just look on the original birth certificate to answer all of these questions. It will be necessary for the American people and the world to know this fascinating part of our history.

2277 Kamehameha Ave. which is the house the Dunhams had lived in since they moved to Hawaii in 1960.

So the adoring crowds are making pilgrimages to a house, the one in the birth announcement, and probably on his long form BC (whichever version), that The One never lived in.

Figures.

His very birth announcement was a fraud.

His mother must have had connections with Vital Statistics Office and paid bribed them to print the announcement in two newspapers.

And like other people I will not buy into a 47 year old conspiracy, the reason the birth announcement appeared in the paper using an address Granny knew was safe was to “preserve her daughter’s honor and give a legitimacy to the situation”. Once Ann arrived back in HI I can just hear her parents saying, “Isn’t it a shame Ann’s marriage didn’t work out and she is left to raise the baby on her own?”

Makes perfectly good sense. Another reason would be possibly to give the baby US citizenship, the easy way, if he was born in Canada, or elsewhere outside the US. It's even possible, but not likely, that if he was born outside the US, even HE doesn't know it....although then why "cling" so tightly to his BC?

Hardly necessary. His grandmother would just have filed a "home birth" certificate, fudging the date a little. The filing of that certificate would have triggered the birth announcement, just as one filed by a hospital would. The home birth aspect would be reflected on the long form Certificate, but not on the short form Certification.

The purpose of the "little deception", to have the baby be a US citizen.

I have said all along that the mere registration of birth would generate the birth announcements which appeared in both papers and then end up getting the argument that the newspapers got their information from the Dept of Vital Statistics. What a circular argument denying that the registration of birth would be done to the Dept of Vital Stats! Grandma, as a respected employee at Bankoh, would never be questioned registering the birth of her grandson and at that time to register a birth didn’t require the numerous records which are required now ie. prenatal records, well baby checks etc. they simply required a family member or a person with knowledge of the birth to register the birth.

Ever since I discovered that after this guy became famous he has been exploiting his relationship with the media to get money for drugs and women, I have thought that perhaps this guy, being a blood relative, having the same father as 0, and being an already corrupt person, might be willing to send for the birth certificate if he could get a good price for his services. I know it’s probably crazy but everytime I see his picture I wonder.

The latest in Kenya is that Malik Abongo Obama has set up the “Barack H. Obama Foundation” and when journalists ask for an interview he requests they make a “donation” to the foundation. The Obama family in Kenya is having further problems with Malik which have resulted in something similar to a restraining order. When Grandma Sarah was away Malik built a home on her property without permission and had started to lay the foundation for a mosque. Things are not rosy in the Obama family!

That sounds like typical Dunham document practices, for sure... When she originally went to UH in 1960 she would have used the 2277 Kamehameha Ave. address. When she registered for the 1963 spring classes at UH it would have been difficult to prove she had lived on the island continuously so she would qualify as an instate student, unless she used the same address to register again. (which she did)

No, his mother was probably still in Kenya at the time. The grandmother had the wherewithal to file the false docs with the State of Hawaii.

Hope this helps.

That's amazing!

However, the Justices of the SCOTUS do not like to hear the word probably during arguments and it is amazing that granny would have the wherewithal to know that her newborn grandson would be elected President of the United States.

What does SCOTUS have to do with this topic?

Does someone need SCOTUS’ permission to build a birthplace monument? Please tell us what legal theory you are basing this wild belief on.

Where from your research do you think the Obama birthplace monument should be built, exactly? Street address (or longitude/latitude) please.

Please try to stay on topic and not go off on wild tangents.

(PS. Granny Dunham was worried about just securing American citizenship for baby Barry at the time. If you had even a passing familiarity with citizenship law at the time, you would know this. Hope this helps.)

Is this visit to Seattle and Ann’s friend the second visit she took with Obama when he was a baby? I’ve also seen it said that she was there when he was a tiny newborn, so he may have been born in Washington state. So are there two separate visits?

No it isn’t the second visit Ann paid to Washington state. Some speculate that she went to Seattle for a visit with Jr, returned to Hawaii and dropped Jr off and then returned to Seattle. She registered for courses at University of Washington and remained in Washington from the time of her visit until she returned to Hawaii in early 1963 with Jr. She lived in apt 110 1427 Alexander St which had been rented for her by her parents and then moved in with her parents when she registered for spring 1963 classes at UH at Manoa. Ann only made the one trip to Seattle and remained in Seattle until she returned to Hawaii. She had Jr with her all that time. When she made the trip she was staying with a friend of her mother and borrowed her mother’s friend’s car to drive out for the infamous visit with Susan Blake. Two weeks later Maxine Box visited Ann at the friend’s home but no name has ever been given for that woman.
One clue to the fact that she remained in Washington is the lack of infant and baby photos aside from one which was released after Madelyn Dunham died. The photo is a professional one with only Jr in it and I guesstimate he was 6 to 8 months old when it was taken.
We still don’t know exactly when Ann arrived in Seattle with Jr but we know she didn’t know how to change diapers and we also know Susan Blake described him as “very new and very pink”. Could Ann have had Jr in a home for unwed mothers in Canada which wasn’t as racist in 1961?(A white woman giving birth in Seattle in 1961 to a colored baby would be placed in a segregated maternity ward) It would explain her not knowing how to change diapers since contact between mothers and babies in such homes was not encouraged.Travel between the U.S. and Canada was extremely easy at that time as well, when the border guards would ask to see the driver’s licence but pay no attention to passengers. We also know from Susan Blake’s remarks that Jr wasn’t very old since his melanin hadn’t become apparent yet.

It’s a shame is grandmother passed away (bless her soul). There’s a possibility she could have provided details.

2. No one in Honolulu has come forward to acknowledge or celebrate the fact that the president was born there. This is highly unusual. When past presidents have been elected, their birthplace, hometown, and other events and locations have been acknowledged as historical landmarks. No plaques have been erected, no one has come forward with testimonials, no public figure has made any proclamation regarding the president being born in Hawaii or anywhere in the states. In fact, the hospitals in Honolulu all indicate that they have no record of his birth there. The address claimed was occupied by the owners who were two college professors who were not familiar with Obama’s family. However, Kenyan officials have proclaimed his birth in Kenya on several occasions.

Another bump to the top for this trenchant observation.

Remember all the places in the east with signs that say "George Washington slept here?"

Now we will have multiple signs saying "Obama Born Here."

If Mr. Obama decides to enlighten us as to exactly which hospital he was born in, I might well be interested in visiting.
