Well, here I’ll be consistent. I do not condemn the man (that’s for God to do) — and I’d invite a homosexual to church so that he could learn the Word of God and find out why he needs to repent — but you clearly cannot ignore “sin no more” no matter how loudly you scream and put your fingers in your ears.

To me, the most significant portion of the Jesus quote, which you two left out, is Neither do I condemn you.
Except that he said both. And we don't get to pick the half we like. Either half.

We simply disagree on interpretation of the entire quote. Which is fine.

I never stated an 'interpretation'. I stated that Jesus said both things. It is not an 'interpretation' to ignore part of it. We might differ in application but since I have not stated how I apply it there is not way for you to assume that.

So, if you are not actually committed to what" the Christ
story" is about to those who follow him, you probably
ought not use Him to bolster your arguments. Otherwise,
you should expect “disagreement”.

What in the world is going on with our society?? Sick.

There are multitudes of disagreement even within Christianity itself, thus the splitting of it into countless factions, each with their own specific ideas of what constitutes the “truth.”
As for my spiritual “commitment” (your word), it does encompass the Christ story but that constitutes only a part of it. This is not to diminish the Christ scenario, only to say that my beliefs are not limited to it.
To: MEGoody
This proves that every gay person makes the choice? You are a very logical person, aren’t you? (/sarc)
To: JSDude1
And which interpretation/translation/revision of scripture do you accept?
Multiple interpretations, translations, revisions of the Bible, even within different congregations — or within different individuals, for that matter.
The Book of Revelation is actually a prime example of a book that has been interpreted in countless ways by different sects and religious factions or groups. All of them convinced of their truth, of course.

I think that this Abby gets scammed a lot more than her mother used to.

To me, the most significant portion of the Jesus quote, which you two left out, is Neither do I condemn you. For you, it appears to be the other half. This is predicated on following His command to, "go and sin no more."

Yeah, yeah I get it.
There are essentials that transcend
the factions, tenents within the pale (small o) of orthodoxy and all of the 3 (RC, Orthodox, and Protestant) branches adhere to them. Not going to digress any further, but if you do
not adhere to Christianity as it has been understood
for a couple thousand years, at least be upfront about
what you are. I don't go around saying, “ Buddha said
this, and Mohammad said that “ because I do not follow them.
To: RepublitarianRoger2
Your “spiritual commitment encompasses “the Christ story”,
says it all.
To: Owl_Eagle
Why am I not surprised by the answer?

ewwwww Or did he ever wonder WHY he has many gay family members and friends?? It started somewhere!
This agenda, as well as the abortion agenda, presumes that all people NEED sex, no matter what the age, and if you think of something, no matter how wrong you should act on it, cuz hey you were born that way, or you can't be expected to behave responsibly! Consequences?? What consequences. We will just get them banned, and do whatever we want. The new “morals”.
Granted everyone wants sex, it is NOT A NEED! Unless you are a serial rapists or some such mental disorder.
