Computer Screen Has Gone Wobbly---HELP!!!
Self | August 28, 2009 | PJ-Comix

Posted on 08/28/2009 3:15:03 PM PDT by PJ-Comix

I have an LCD flat screen computer monitor. I turned it on a little while ago and most of what I see is wobbling slightly. However, I do notice the extreme right side of the screen seems to be steady (insert political joke here).

I restarted my computer but the problem remains the same. The brightness of the screen remains the same as before so I don't think this is because the screen is somehow fading.

Anybody know how I can fix this.

Well, its barely tolerable but it is a reminder to start thinking about getting a new computer. I guess after about 3 years is a good time to think about getting a new computer. And I'm overdue at almost 4 years. However, I am going to take my time and look for a good deal. Too bad there are no coupons on computers. BTW, I have such good Boston Market frozen dinner coupons that I might be able to get about 15 of them for FREE. That's right. I said FREE!!!

But now to concentrate on getting a great computer deal.

Sounds like it's all wee wee’d up. But seriesly you've gotten all the good advice already. She maybe on the “death panel” list.

I'd recommend a Dell. Their prices are good. You sound like a bargain hunter so you should be able to find a deal. I got a Dell for my son almost 2 years ago and haven't had a glitch with it. If you can get XP instead of Vista. I don't know when Windows 7 is going be offered. Too bad you couldn't wait till then.

Then I must come to the conclusion that you are on drugs. The monitor is fine, it’s you.

4 years ago when I needed a new computer, a friend of mine told me he would give me one of his. My choice. He had six of them. So what happened? Hurricane Katrina caused a lot of flooding in Homestead and flooded his home. All his computers were destroyed. However, he did invite me down there and told me something so incredibly bizarre that I decline to post it here. Probably not even in my Canada Free Press humor column. It is that strange.

When will it be offered? I can live with this for a couple more months.

Did your guitar hit you with a skillet?

Mine goes wobbly every time a picture of Orrin Hatch appears on it. I can just imagine what yours is doing.

You probably need a new wobbler bearing for your hard drive. It works kind of like the knueter valve in your car; you feel it in your steering wheel when, after you make a turn and start to accelerate, it straightens out the car. You’ll notice it next time you go out for burgers.

The story about Lala the Indian guy (from India) who offered me my choice of free computers can only be told in person. If I were to put it down in black and white, it could leave a really bad impression. The few people I TOLD the story to in person laughed like hell but it could be misinterpreted if I typed it out.

Briefly what happened is that when Katrina hit the coast (as a Cat. 1) not far from me, Lala called me up and asked me to drive down to Homestead because he had to tell me something. I told him that in case he hadn't noticed we had a hurricane that had just hit the coast but Lala BEGGED me to drive down there and told me it was something he could only tell me in person and not on the phone. Of course, I begged off but couldn't believe he expected me to drive out while there was a hurricane in the area.

Weeks later I did drive down to Homestead (after his computers were wrecked in the flood) because I was so curious about what he wanted to tell me that was so important that he insisted that I brave driving thru a hurricane. Well, Lala was MIA when I got there. Not to be found.

Sooooo.... A couple of weeks later I go back down to Homestead and finally he was at home. What happened next scared the hell out of me. I mean I really thought it was going to be the end of ol' PJ. Fortunately my fear was only a false alarm but when he finally told me his "secret" message, I was pretty shocked. Well, maybe not all that shocked since this was Lala who is an extremely eccentric character.

Can't tell here what Lala said except to allay your suspicion: No he wasn't homo. It was even more shocking.

and I hope you’ll support my bid for Permier of Manitoba, Canada. *snicker* To replace Gary Doer who couldn’t do’er.

“If Doer didn’t do’er, Looney will get’er done!”

Sure, I’m not Canadian but why should that be a problem? Do I need to present a birth certificate? And yes, I’m probably not qualified to flip burgers...

... but I can do a lot better than Gary Doer did these last 10 years!!

SO I hope all FReepers will support my bid.

Can someone show me where Manitoba is on a map?

Most of the Fry’s deals say if you buy, you’ll get the Win 7 upgrade free
