Yeah, and it sucks. I almost died nearly a year ago during a blizzard on a mountain in New Mexico. It's not safe down here. Not for the faint of heart or unprepared.

Just a heads up - You probably will need to do a tad better than "I've been around pits and the .000000000000001% (or whatever) I've observed didn't hurt anyone!". Prob/Stats teacher, no doubt.

You are free to place yourself in risky situations or not. When you make a bad decision you get to say "oops".
But when a 5 year old is in his/her own back yard and a dog from 2 doors down gets free and kills her, I think I would have some trouble with the owner, the person responsible for some bad decisions, saying "oops" and "life is dangerous on terra firma, get used to it".
And, actually, if you want to dump 3400 lbs of live beef in my house, I'll take it. Meat's getting expensive.
It'll be a mess. But I can deal with that.

I’ll dispense with the usual stuff and just say this;
I was surfing through cable the other night and came across a show about “Parolees and Pitbulls” or something like that. The work they were doing seemed to some good stuff, but they arranged some sort of support table at a local (dog?) show.
Anyway, they were selling all sorts of “gangsta” looking stuff about Pitbulls (shirts, signs, etc). Now, really, isn’t that the reason we’re in this mess in the first place? “It’s the owner, not the Pit” and all that? So, these guys are catering to and CREATING the exact image that is causing all these problems. Gangasta and tough-guy wannabees. They’re just causing the next spike in the Pit Bull abandonment/adoption cycle.
Retards.
That seems patently stupid. But then again, the media is in love with the whole thug culture, which is part of the reason for the pit bull rage, and fed the whole lets create a really bad A** dog thing.
Maybe the nanny staters should just ban everything and get our progress and change completed faster. This person was a judge? We have the the mentally ill running the country on all levels.

There was a time, when I was young and stupid, that I thought we could just make laws for all sorts of things, and then life would be good. Then, I got older and wiser. Some people just get older.
I know what you mean, jelly bean. It is going to take a revolution to get the constitution and our National sovergnity back - not an election. The whole society is so stinking corrupt and ridden with termites, there really is not tweaking it back to anything we recognize as American-American.

A pit bull is any dog between 30 and 100 lbs, with a fine coat, long or short legs, muscular or slender or chubby build, a long or short muzzle, drop ears, prick ears, wide set or narrowly set eyes, a docked or natural tail, and the only colors they come in are blue, black, red, white, fawn, brown, and buckskin. Pit bulls may come with spots, speckles, patches, flashing, socks or dark tips.
What could possibly go wrong?
