Thanks but...

"Quotation Marks Quotes have to be used around the URLs for web pages and images on Free Republic. Some systems do not require this. Ours does."

I have never used for either here

Because so many of us are posting from mobile devices, HTML is just not as useful anymore. Better for 2012 would be tricks we can use to get similar or at least useful effects, like putting a couple of dashes in a line below a quote will create a whole line of them, making it easy to separate what you are quoting and your comment.

If we had to post using HTML on ipads and phones, we wouldn't have time to post.

With that said, on a real computer, HTML is fun.

Just a personal preference but I wish more posters would use target="bodypage" when creating links. It opens a new window and doesn't take you away from the page your viewing.

Go There

That's a good tip. Another way, although not as instantaneous, is for a person to right click on a link, which opens a box from which one can choose what to do, open in new window, open in new tab, bookmark, save, send link location, or copy location.

Since this is the sandbox, thought I'd add that. Maybe someone can use the info...elementary as it is...tabs do help one from the other clumsiness of having to use a back button.

So...maybe in 2012 I will remember how to do tables. Probably not, though. Thanks for trying to train me. :)

That's a good idea.

However, as I do not use mobile data devices, I would not know anything about that.

If you would post some tips on using them with FR, I will be sure to include them in next year's post, though.
