ORLANDO, Fla. -- A new study by the University of Central Florida's Diversity and Ethics in Sport released Thursday shows that the top leadership positions at Football Bowl Subdivision schools and conferences remain mostly white and male.

Study author Richard Lapchick called those numbers "unacceptable" and said part of the problem with getting more diversity throughout the system falls on the lack of penalties or sanctions for institutions that aren't more diverse.

Lapchick said he continues to advocate for an "Eddie Robinson Rule," patterned after the NFL's Rooney Rule, which would mandate at least one minority candidate be interviewed for all open coaching and key administration positions.
The NFL has been much worse off since the establishment of the "Rooney Rule", put in place by Dan Rooney, who gave a slobbering thanks to obama after his Steelers victory over the Cards in Superbowl XLIII.

Diversity should be a result of excellence on the part of individuals, not something imposed despite it.

I always say that white guys who whine about lack of diversity should give up their jobs so that a minority can take it.
Wonder why there’s no complaint about the inordinate number of black men playing college basketball? I know white men can’t jump but they can still pass, shoot and dribble with the best. Basketball was more fun to watch when teams actually ran plays, players could hit free throws and dunking wasn’t the only shot in a player’s arsenal. By the way, coaches and other management positions should be filled based on candidates’ qualifications. Period.
Rick Lapchick was one of my professors at Virginia Wesleyan College in 1972. He was one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet, but he was very deep in the farleft feverswamps. Affirmative action is needed for Asians on basketball teams. My son was discriminated against in playing basketball in college even though he is 5’ 9” tall!

The NFL should be forced to limit each team to no more than 6% blacks.

Given that 67% are black now, that opens up a LOT of job opportunities for white guys, LOL.
