Is Trumps movement fascist rather than conservative?

I am honestly getting a little scared of what I see happening in politics at the moment. Trump seems to be creating a personality cult where his supporters don’t seem to care what they are supporting provided he attacks the people they don’t like. I am starting to feel a little bit like a German citizen in the early 1930’s watching normally rational conservatives start to cultishly follow a strong leader who they thought would fight back and stop the communists.

Seriously if I had to pick a political philosophy for the Trump movement I would say that it is fascism for the following reasons.

1. Trump's support of and past involvement in crony capitalism (such as his support for using the condemnation power of the state to take property for private parties with good government connections).

2. Trump's followers extreme desire for a strong leader and almost mystical belief that he can fix things without caring what his beliefs or idealogy is.

3. Trump's support for a type of nationalism that is starting to push into the overtly rascist and nativist realm.

4. The delight that Trump seems to take in personally demeaning and attempting to destroy anyone who opposes him. And the way that his followers cheer him on in so including supporting him using sexist slurs against Megan Kelly for doing her job as a journalist.

5. Finally, the fact that Trump and his supporter seem to have no concern for the constitution or the separation of powers.

You fit right in with the liberal professor who said Scott Walker was like Hitler:

Neither. I support Cruz and would be Happy with Walker and OK with Rubio.

Your concerns are logical but over reactive. I wont worry until he annexes Canada, invades Mexico, and hires Dominoes to start building bigger ovens. Relax! Hmmm, about invading Mexico, that would not worry me.

No joke. Must be REEEAAALLLY getting desperate.

Why do Ted Cruz supporters hate America? Are we just not suffering enough for our ‘’sins’’?

Fascist? No, not yet at least.

Populist, with a cult of personality? Yup.

3. Trump's support for a type of nationalism that is starting to push into the overtly rascist and nativist realm.

Sure man, anyone who wants immigration laws enforced and is concerned about the consequences of unregulated borders is a crypto-nazi appealing to racist impulses.

Or it could be you've succumbed to vile leftist brainwashing on the subject.

4. And the way that his followers cheer him on in so including supporting him using sexist slurs against Megan Kelly for doing her job as a journalist.

Megan Kelly's hatchet job "journalism" is shockingly unprofessional. Out of context character smears are not an integral part of journalism -- they are a betrayal of it. Oh by the way she just came back from vacation and devoted the first part of her show to trashing trump and goading her guests into doing the same.

You can't push the sexist slur thing with a straight face. You know Megan's question about Trump wanting to see a woman "on her knees" was debunked as a gross out of context smear right?

Right now, I think Trump is playing the demagogue card. And doing it well. The benefit of that is that it makes the unsayable sayable. It crushes political correctness, and emboldens the timid. In other words, it sets a new bar.

If you feel like a citizen of Germany in the post-WWI days, maybe it's because those citizens felt overwhelmed by the shame the world tried to heap on them, the onerous economic conditions of the time, and the hopelessness that arose from a weak, compliant government. Kind of like the United States today ...

You fear Trump. I fear just about anyone else.

Jeez....as a fellow supporter of Ted Cruz, let me say “Lighten up, Francis”.

I’m certainly not a Trump supporter but I am glad to see the tizzy he’s throwing the GOPe, ‘RATS and Mainstream Media into.

Rosy Scenario: Trump is destroying the pro-invasion RINO’s for the benefit of Ted Cruz.

The mystery is what excuse will Trump have for bowing out.

Do you want a straight answer to that or are we obligated by past usage to throw the word “fascist” around as loosely as we’ve been throwing the words “socialist” and “communist” around?
