As if life wasn't hard enough during the last Ice Age, a new study has found Australia's first human inhabitants had to contend with giant killer lizards. Researchers working in Central Queensland were amazed when they unearthed the first evidence that Australia's early human inhabitants and giant apex predator lizards had overlapped

A 1 1/2 meter monitor lizard which are pretty common in Southeast Asia is a heart attack inducing surprise when you come across them. But these guys!!!

Given the lizards went extinct after humans showed up then one can assume they were pretty tasty!

of course humans won. The right to bear arms was prevalent even in caveman time, as if they did not, those pesky lizards would have overrun the humans.

There is some kind of small lizard that is BBQed and sold in Southeast Asian markets. It never occurred to me to taste one any more than did the BBQ rats. They both look very much like you would imagine.
