Can a person be "cured" of Type 2 Diabetes? Dr. Sarah Hallberg provides compelling evidence that it can, and the solution is simpler than you might think.
Dr. Sarah Hallberg is the Medical Director of the Medically Supervised Weight Loss Program at IU Health Arnett, a program she created. She is board certified in both obesity medicine and internal medicine and has a Masterâs Degree in Exercise Physiology. She has recently created what is only the second non-surgical weight loss rotation in the country for medical students. Her program has consistently exceeded national benchmarks for weight loss, and has been highly successful in reversing diabetes and other metabolic diseases. Dr. Hallberg is also the co-author of www.fitteru.us, a blog about health and wellness.

Sorry, but diabetes cannot be cured. It can be well controlled, but once you have it, you are stuck with it for life. You have to always maintain your weight, eat a healthy diet and exercise. Otherwise, the disease becomes reactivated and complications can develop.

Sarah Hallberg said so, not cured, at the 10:44 time mark.

Diabetes is a condition where your fasting and post-prandial blood sugars exceed specified maximum amounts. When excessive carbohydrates and excessive protein have been eliminated from the metabolism and the metabolism has become adapted to using ketones from nutritional ketosis as fuel, many people reduce their blood sugars to less than the maximum which defines a state of Type II Diabetes. When they do so by nutrition and without diabetic medications, they are no longer in a diabetic state. Can they return to a diabetic state? Yes, of course they can. So long as they maintain a state of ketosis, burning fats instead of glucose as the primary source of fuel, they remain non-diabetic without medications as controls.

I’ve always thought that by “cured” they actually mean totally under control. I think they use “cured” as a sales word. There could be deception, though, in that people who are “cured” may think, “Oh, I don’t have to stick myself anymore or spend money on medications.”
Lots of people who have never had diabetes would have to deal with it were they to not maintain their weight and a healthy diet.
I admit I brought my diabetes on myself by lousy eating habits, being obese and not exercising. Today these faults have been mostly corrected and my diabetes has improved considerably, but I am by no means cured.
Additionally, as I get older, my diabetes is getting harder to control. This is because the pancreas, which produces the necessary insulin, is wearing out. It's now necessary for me to drop my carbs even further and keep my weight under control, or I will need insulin.
Please add me to your ping list, thanks.

Glad to hear it. I’m a fan of both.
I know many people have a “hard on” about Big Pharma and are looking to cure their afflictions through some more “natural therapy.” To some extent, I agree with them. It is better not to rely on meds, but to take care of yourself as best you can. Unfortunately, there are some conditions where natural therapies don't work and it becomes necessary to use meds. It can be dangerous to forego meds in favor of these natural methods. People who have diabetes must be wary of these “cures.”
Congrats on managing to correct all that—that’s not easy!
That is flat out untrue.
You can believe that...at your peril.
Thank you.
don’t fall for the lies of mainstream medicine. you can absolutely reverse this. you might want to really evaluate your diet as that is the main cause. But...you should also do a thorough check of your thyroid as that contributes to unstable/high BG
