Supporters of the winning Sydney to Hobart yacht Comanche have been attacked on social media for wearing Native American headdresses at the finish line in Constitution Dock, Tasmania.
The fans sang Queen's Fat Bottomed Girls and made stereotypical Native American war cries by tapping their hands over their mouths and whooping, as the American supermaxi sailed into the Hobart dock.
Social media users have accused team Comanche supporters of being racially insensitive and 'tacky' and called it an 'inappropriate display.'

That boat was built in the state of Maine by Hodgeh Yachts. A fine company.
So what was the point of the Indian headdresses anyway? Because of the yacht being named Comanche? I’m not an expert on these things, but I thought the full feathered headdresses as shown in the article were a Sioux thing, and I’m not aware that the Comanche ever wore such. If I am wrong, I’m certain that someone will correct me.
If a white American woman can be Black, and a white American man be a woman, why can’t a white Australian woman be Native American??
If either of those things were true, then no reason at all why not. Since neither is true, that’s why not.
In any case, there was no indication in the article that Ms. Hinze-Clarke was claiming to be Native American.

Its all about self-righteousness as a cover for never doing anything with your life. That, and manipulating guilt to rob someone of their merit. No one should ever be proud of their accomplishments without permission from people who never accomplished anything.
Racism is a handy hammer used by people for all occasions. No one ever notices that it is the people throwing the accusations who are race obsessed, not necessarily the people they are accusing.
