Bollocks. AGAIN with the "upgrade" difficulties!
The DMFers at Microshaft hosed users once again. I have rescued no less than a dozen friends with a copy of Win 7 hardened against the Gates filth sent down the pike.

I quit updating my laptop after an update to 10 killed my internet connectivity and I had to roll back to a restore point. I’ve decided to not update my desktop - I’ll stick with 7.
Thanks to Utilizer for the ping!!
You people are the reason I still have clients on Windows XP, Vista and 7 who refuse to upgrade. Argh! ;-)
W10 is not for me.
As the French are wont to say:
Plus ça change, plus ça reste la même chose.
Thanks heaps for those forced updates, Microsoft. We love having our time wasted.
Win10 IS a problematic update. NO one in their right mind should ever load that spyware laden piece of crap. Exchange and Win10 should be killed off immediately by MS. I have 35+ years working with Microsoft products and support them, but those two products are beyond terrible.
My computer updated Thursday night and I haven’t been able to turn it on since. I turn it on and it says “preparing automatic repair” and then blue screen of death and restarts and it’s a loop over and over. Can anyone help? I have a recorded drive on a usb but it won’t load.
My computer installed this update last week and I have not encountered any issues. I guess I got lucky for once.
This exact scenario happened to me last week and I’m running Vista for cryin’ out loud. Had to use system restore and disable Windows Update service. My plan is to wait 30 days and try again...
Sure wish I was still running Win 7. Win 10 is a big step backwards.
Ubuntu Studio 15 64-bit
Not going near Windows 10.
Seems to me that when Bill Gates is told to, he can send out one of these toxic updates, and cripple Americans’ ability to resist the government, communicate with one another, etc.
Running Windows 10 on 10+ PCs with zero problems. Lots of complainers and Linux pushers on this thread. Same old BS - stay with Windows XP, Vista, 7 or install Linux. Bunch of complaining, rinse, repeat. Lame.
If you get it free, you’ve got ZERO LEVERAGE over MS.
I thought WX WAS a problematic update?
This is why their whole forced updates you cant refuse strategy will not fly with me.
Bye microsquish. Staying with what works, and using different when I have to.
For those interested it’s: KB3140743
