Perhaps, but this is what I envision when I think of a gas powered water pump.

Sorry but she didn’t just shout out in anger kill yourself...

She actively manipulated and influenced him over extended periods of time to commit this act.

She is a sick twisted sociopath

What is strange is that there are some number of people, myself included, who have stated they are hopeful Muslims target liberals who support Muslims.

I find the idea that people should suffer at the hand of the stupidity they foist on others to be acceptable.

How different is that, really, from this lady’s words?

I have said “drop dead” to a number of people, particularly guys who were acting like jerks. It was just a phrase we used in the ‘50’s and ‘60’s. These guys are all fine and turned out well - without me in their life.

We certainly didn’t use the “whatever” or “yeah, right” which seems to be popular among young people today. Such a response in my house would have resulted in a slap across my face and a washing out of my mouth with soap.

Absolutely. The boy obviously had issues, and she played upon those issues. She could have walked away and said it is over, but she instead chose to repeatedly goad him until he finally acquiesced.

I agree it was sleazy - but I can also hear the defense stating, rightfully so, that she was not qualified to understand his issues properly. It's why we have "expert" witnesses and rely on testimony of so-called "experts" in some cases. It could just as easily be said that she has sociopath issues which amount to her needing psychiatric help.

I would not be sad to see her indicted/convicted but we also need to have some lines within the legal system to insure it isn't up to the discretion of those who are offended vs. the actual laws and intents of the laws under the Constitution.

So many of our problems have been caused by politicians selling us on, or claiming, some "Noble Cause" clause in the Constitution that my "spidey sense" goes off with such cases.

No, she wasn’t using reverse psychology. He had already started filling the truck cab with carbon monoxide and then got out of the truck because he was having second thoughts when she told him to get back in because he needed to take his life that night. Their texts make it clear that she was bullying him and preying on his depression to make sure he killed himself that night.

Understand and agree with both of you.

Per my response to others:

I agree it was sleazy - but I can also hear the defense stating, rightfully so, that she was not qualified to understand his issues properly. It's why we have "expert" witnesses and rely on testimony of so-called "experts" in some cases. My instincts say, "hang her from a tree in the town square", my other side says we need to be absolutely sure we are actually doing what's right without putting another ding in the Constitution - like "hate crimes"....

Advice to her lawyer - do her up as a young innocent rather than a mature sophisticate. She looks like she’s dressed to avoid getting carded at the bar rather than as the young victim of a mentally ill man.

When he had exited the vehicle and said that he didn’t want to do it (kill himself) that night, she berated him and insulted him as she told him to get back in the truck and finish it.

She not only knew he was going to kill himself, she knew the how, where, and when. And she pushed him to do it even after he had made the decision to back out.

This is clearly criminal. Conspiracy if nothing else.

It was more than one remark, or text. She sent him a series of texts telling him to go through with it after he expressed second thoughts. She is evil. Read the whole story.

I’m sure the defense attorney will, and I hope she still is convicted. She knew by the fact of her text to her friend, that what she was doing was wrong, and that she could have prevented it. So her own words will seal her fate, at least they should.

That look on her face says it all. She is arrogant and thinks she is blameless.

No argument but as I clarified in other posts:

My instincts say, "hang her from a tree in the town square", my other side says we need to be absolutely sure we are actually doing what's right without putting another ding in the Constitution - like "hate crimes"....

Even though your take on it has merit, then we also need to prosecute law officers for stings where they urge others to commit crimes in order to nab them. Unless we decide that under the aegis of "official law officers" that such activity is OK while it isn't OK for mere citizens. Where is the line drawn.

I realize they aren't "allowed" to cause death by their actions in the stings, but where is that line drawn and who decides that it be drawn?

If you or I did half of what Hillary did, we would be put away for life - the same folks trying to say she's not culpable are those who get to say others are culpable for the same crimes.

Until we get back on a solid Constitutional foundation, laws are worse than meaningless -they are tools and weapons to be wielded against the People at the whims of those "in charge".

See my other comments on it - our sensibilities and emotions often tell us things that could be hazardous to the Constitution.
