According to a press release provided to The Daily Caller, Terence Burke, senior vice president of national news, said that CNNs cutting-edge development of technology to enhance the way we tell stories is a part of our DNA. We are proud to continue the tradition with CNN AIR, and to establish a unit that will expand our technological capabilities for newsgathering.
CNN has formed the first media-related research partnership with the Georgia Tech Research Institute and will be in a direct research agreement with the Federal Aviation Administration.
According to the press release, in 2015, CNN was selected by the FAA as one of the first three industry Pathfinders to develop safe uses of UAS in newsgathering. CNN has shared data and research that has helped formulate a framework for various types of UAS to be safely integrated into the national air space and continues to work to expand the safe and legal operation of UAS in newsgathering.

BTTT
How will they cover the story of the first one being shot down?
It's not about the facts, data and news reporting. For CNN, it's the way the story is told. That explains a lot. This is why a man, who shoots a dog, in defense of a toddler who is being mauled, will ensure the CNN audience feels sorry for the dog and wants the shooter arrested, convicted and sentence to life in prison. Then they would recommend lawmakers do something about these dog haters.
Wonder if BB gun would affect it. Sounds like fun.
Why is the FAA involved in the propaganda business?
Fox News gets that lead on point covering "Buckwheat Lives Matter" riots.
Real fine bird shot with a wide open choke.
I iz ready for the dronz!
“Wonder if BB gun would affect it. Sounds like fun.”
Yep. These drones are very lightweight and flimsy.
Seriously, it’s nearing time to make war (figuratively of course?heh) against the MSMedia: Follow them, film them, harass them the way they do us “little people”.....
Wave as you look skyward.
Charles Krauthammer said on Fox that the first farmer who shoots one of these down is going to become an instant folk hero.
Is newsgathering newsspeak for selective editing?
While I support the development of this kind of technology in principle, theres a major constitutional problem with the FAAs actions imo.
More specifically, and military issues aside, given that the states have never amended the Constitution to allow the existance of the FAA, the FAA another deceptive front-end for corrupt Congress, the issue of this thread is another example of the unconstitutionally big federal government once again expanding its powers outside the framework of the Constitution imo.
James Madison and Thomas Jefferson had warned patriots to keep an eye on the feds concerning this type of expansion.
I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations. James Madison, Speech at the Virginia Convention to ratify the Federal Constitution (1788-06-06)
To take a single step beyond the boundaries thus specially drawn around the powers of Congress, is to take possession of a boundless field of power, no longer susceptible of any definition. Thomas Jefferson, Jefferson's Opinion on the Constitutionality of a National Bank : 1791
The system of the General Government is to seize all doubtful ground. We must join in the scramble, or get nothing. Where first occupancy is to give right, he who lies still loses all. Thomas Jefferson to James Monroe, 1797.
Remember in November !
Patriots need to support Trump / Pence by also electing a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will not only work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to support Trumps vision for making America great again for everybody, but will put a stop to unconstitutonal federal inteference in state affairs.
Note that such a Congress will also probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.
I’m thinking thay Freedom of Speech makes CNN’s drones a viable target when over your property.
Cabelas will soon be offering Drone Blinds.
Krauthammer was too optimistic. Never mind the matter of fame; so far the legal consequences of shooting down a drone in your own yard are a coin flip. I’d have to bet that none of us know the names of the guys in the first couple of links here at “homeowner shoots drone”:
CNN launches drone operation?
I thought CNN WAS a drone operation.
