George W. Bush to attend Trump’s inauguration
The Hill ^ | 1/3/2017 | Ben Kamisar

Posted on 01/03/2017 10:43:06 AM PST by orchestra

President George W. Bush and his wife Laura Bush will attend President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration this month.

In a statement Tuesday, the former president’s office said the Bushes are “pleased to be able to witness the peaceful transfer of power — a hallmark of American democracy — and swearing-in of President Trump and Vice President Pence.”

The decision makes Bush the second living president to attend Trump's inauguration ceremonies. President Jimmy Carter announced his decision to attend last year.

President George H.W. Bush, 92, is not expected to attend. His spokesman cited his advanced age in a statement to Politico last month about the president's decision not to attend the inauguration.

President Bill Clinton has not announced whether he will attend the event after Trump’s contentious presidential race against his wife, Hillary Clinton.

President Obama is expected, as per custom, to attend inauguration events at the Capitol building before departing.

Why bother, Georgie?

You didn’t vote for him.

“All the dead ones will be there?”

No, most of them cast ballots for Hillary in Detroit.

Well, big whoop.

He doesn’t want to witness the swearing in of President Donald J. Trump, the 45th president of the United States. He wants to witness the peaceful transfer of power. Ok there, W.

Good.
Bush I can plead medical issues - though it will be an excuse, since his wife absolutely HATES Trump and will NEVER forgive Trump for eliminating her chosen One, the only Jeb!

Will Clinton attend? Hillary will veto, but zClinton knows he needs to be there. The money influence schemes of the Clinton Foundation REQUIRE he be seen as in the middle of the Washington power base.

Obama will go away as soon as possible. Or will stay to hog the spotlight and take the TV images away from Trump. Can’t figure out which will happen.

Dubya is class. There are many challenges and hard feelings during and after any political run. Dubya knows this due to his years of experience with his dad and his own career.

I am sure the Bush family was upset about Jeb’s primary results, but I have a hunch that, in their heart of hearts, they did not want him to attempt this in the first place.

I am so happy to know Dubya and Laura will be there, and I think we can all live without having to endure the presence of the Clinton’s. I truly hope they opt out of this inauguration.

Good for him
Hopefully Laura is some help to Melania and Ivanka because I think Michael will disappear to a warm secluded mansion with full buffet and unlimited drinks

let’s see. I think Trump should invite Anthony Weiner, all the bimbos that Bill assaulted, Julian Assange, Bibi Netanyahu, Marine Le Penn, Geert Wilders, NigelFarage, et al.

Finally saw a flash of the light - he knows he let us down in a lot of ways then made an ass of himself (along with the rest of the Bush clan) during the campaign. Maybe he can stand next to Cruz so they can compare notes. Cruz still has a chance to redeem himself but it will take a consistent, long-term effort - I still refuse to donate to his reelection campaign....maybe next time, if there is one.

“Question is......will Yebbie show up.”

Why should he? He’s not a former President.

As Putin said, these clown cannot lose gracefully. This entire delay was nothing but a childish temper tantrum.

Yep.

The Obamas showed what trash they were when they turned their backs and walked away to make a dinner reservation, not even bothering to wait until former President and Mrs. Bush left the WH in a helicopter on inauguration day.

You think he would have remembered how badly he was treated and the contempt he was/is held in and not fallen for the dem dirty tricks.

Also, what is with the word ‘peaceful’??!!

Any lack of peace is solely on the dems shoulders.

How overwhelming to read.....
“President Obama is expected, as per custom, to attend inauguration events at the Capitol building before departing.”
DEPARTING!!!!!!

That statement brings daylight to a very dark season.

Good to see GWB and Laura plan to attend. Even with NWO ties, he continues to follow protocol when possible.

One man who would be an asset in attendance would be Dick Chaney. Look forward to his being there.

Rumor said Bibi would like to attend. Park his chair directly behind Barky’s...

Better yet, directly in front of it.

Jimmy Carter is also 92 and has suffered brain cancer.

George HW Bush is ticked off that his plans to change the USA into North Mexico, advanced by his son George W. and supposed to be completed by his other son Yeb!, through non-enforcement of immigration laws and borders, will now be reversed.

The New World Order that he initiated is coming apart before his eyes.
