Andretti Indoor Karting and Games is building a 100,000-square-foot indoor entertainment complex near the booming intersection of Interstate 10 and Loop 1604 — complete with high-speed go-carts, laser tag, arcade games, virtual reality attractions and a full-service bar.

The Georgia-based entertainment company hopes to open next summer near The Rim, managing partner Eddie Hamann said in a phone interview.

“When they walk in, there’s something for everyone of all ages to do and everyone of all ages to eat,” Hamann said.

Even though open containers are illegal here in Texas - you can't hardly drive 10 miles before you come across another drive in liquor store.

I saw my first drive-in liquor store in Granbury Texas about 15 years ago.

I was astounded. Had to drive thru and pick up a 12-pack of Lone Star beer. Actually took a few pictures too.

The name was B’s Beer Barn, IIRC.

I wouldn’t go there, but probably a cool idea to some-let the buyer beware, I would say...

I wouldn’t want to pay their liability insurance premiums, either-got to be higher than Mt. Everest...

I’m pretty sure Texas used to have drive-thrus where you could pick up liquor AND ammo.

2. Only in Texas.

NOPE! Have them here in Illinois already!

It's one of my and my two son's favorite things to do together!

Not that (ahem) I've ever been here, but this place has it all. Beer and hot babes.

You don't even have to leave your car. And if you do go there (not that I ever have) bring a cute puppy. The girls love to lean over and go "awww" at your puppy as you go "awww" at theirs.

Dang, I may have to go for a visit.

Only thing they’re missing is firearms and an indoor range.

K1 Speed Indoor Electric Go-Kart Racing which also has a bar, pool tables, video games, etc..

I understand they're a nationwide chain and think they have a location down in Texas somewhere.

Electric Go-Karts rock! All the torque and speed from the second you hit the throttle on it.

That’s great as long as the girls don’t have a big litter. :(

We’ve had Brew-Thru’s on the OBX of NC for forty years but it’s beer and wine. “Hard” liquor is only sold via state-run ABC stores, which is a legacy of our tee-totaling Baptist heritage as well as bootlegging too, I suppose.

Yes you do have to be legally sober, dang it!

For all the times both my sons and I have been to the one in Addison, IL they've never once said anything or thrown us off the track for putting each other into a corner, hitting the back bumper to pass, spun each other out, etc..

Not that I'm bragging mind you, I've gotten really good at spinning both my sons out. :-)

“I wouldn’t go there, but probably a cool idea to some-let the buyer beware, I would say...”

Think they are putting it by Top Golf. I went there for 2 hours with my wife and another couple and it was over 200 bucks. Told my buddy, we could have went to Silverhorn, played 18, got trashed on the course for half that.
