I use the word “courtesans” advisedly. The numerous young women whom Harvey Weinstein allegedly bedded are generally painted as unfortunate and unwilling victims of a sexual predator, but this is hardly the case. These women were over the age of consent. They were not mentally incapacitated. The man they decided to sleep with was not their a professor in their college course, nor a priest in their parish church, nor a judge before whom they appeared in court. They were free agents, and he was a man who was in a position to provide something that they earnestly desired.
Mr. Weinstein was a powerful gatekeeper, and was willing to open that gate to certain comely young women who wanted in. But there was an entrance fee. He made it clear to them what the price was, and they decided they were willing to pay it. No rape or coercion was involved; it was a commercial transaction.

The site is named Gates of Vienna and has been for quite some time. The article’s title is Courtesans of the Casting Couch.
Back in the 80’s everyone knew about the casting coach. Decent girls went to the interviews in pairs.
Had a friend who was hoping to use the coach to further her career. She would dress so seductively, I often wondered what job she was applying for. Her mom used to coach her what to say and what to do on it.
Wonder what Weinstein did that he was outed.
He's finding that there are other minions who have made a deal with the devil and some of them are higher up the food chain than he is, much to his astonishment.
The background seems to be a developing DoJ investigation into paedophilia and trafficking throughout the country and so far concentrating on the West Coast and Hollywood. The left needed a major character for sacrifice to take all the attention. The only thing they are accomplishing, given Mr. Trumps’s demonstrated tenacity, is calling the public’s attention to the whole subject. Harvey deserves what he has got and will get and so do the others who will also be served up. For all the Left’s supposed concentration on the long term it has a limited view of the present. Progressives get blindsided by effective opposition. They don’t expect it any more.
It’s almost like this kind of thing is SOP in Hollywood. There’s even a subplot in The Godfather that deals with it.

I will agree that there are many women who are not above using their bodies and looks to achieve their goals. I’ve witnessed it.
I do believe that the women who deliberately used their wiles to get a part in a movie or a job on TV news are definitely not victims.
I’ll also admit that I resent these women claiming victimhood while preaching their version of morality to us peons.
There was a ‘famous’ person a few years back that had a well known habit of ‘hiring prostitutes’ and someone called him on it..

At least now I make a call a person comes over, I do my thing, I am satisfied, she is paid, she leaves when I ask her to, no follow up phone calls, no nagging, no extra presents, meals etc etc.
