BIZARRE festive portraits show people posing alongside their pets

Just in time for the holidays, some pet owners shared the most festive photos of their pets dressed up in adorable Christmas costumes, while others decided to dress up themselves and pose with their pets for festive portraits.

The person from whom we got our Persian told us that she had bred for loving, gentle personality and that’s exactly what we had in Pumpkin Muffin. A tiny, grey baby, completely affectionate. I always worried about going to a new breeder to find the same sweet, little thing after we lost Muffin.

I agree on the dog books. The dogs I’ve known fit right into the descriptions.

That is sweet - our breeder bred for looks, but fortunately the ones we got didn't make the grade, so they didn't have to go to shows. I can't imagine any cat likes that.

They are docile. My big male is SO calm. He is the sweetest too - he just purrs and purrs, even when he is by himself.

You got me missing them! I had 3, but little Cashmere passed away last spring. She was the sweetest one, the under cat. I always had to look out for her.

I so miss having cats in the house, but husband is not missing the fur. The table where I feed the raccoons and possums doesn’t get a lot of customers now since it’s so cold. The wild cats show up more, so I keep putting out the catfood and bologna. Had husband turn on the garage heatlamp. We leave a window open enough for an animal to slip in and then fill the garage with pet beds. When I knew two cats were sleeping there we had two heat lamps. Now just one in hopes that someone is a little warmer for the cold northeast winters. Neighbors used to always start with the instinct that the garage was on fire from the red lamp.

Yes, I still miss Cashmere and it’s been about 10 months. Everything used to be in three – feeding them, grooming them, it seems like I’m not done when I’ve just done two.

I hear you on the for! I haven’t been able to wear black and years :-) but it’s OK, it’s worth the trade-off.

That is so so sweet of you to accommodate Kittie’s in your garage. I sure hope sone are able to find it. I have been feeding a stray cat at the Bojangles dumpster in town. I sure wish I could catch her and bring her home. I have no idea how they survive these cold nights. It literally does keep me awake some nights worrying about them when the weather is exceptionally bad.

Wonderful that you’re feeding the stray cat. Makes a big difference in their survival. Get a picture if you can!!!

I saw a mother with growing kittens in the yard in winter and left the back porch door open. Then we found her dead there. I was highly motivated to capture her kittens and finally did. We kept them through their lives, but they never became friendly. They were totally devoted to one another and wanted nothing to do with human beings. The last one followed his brother fairly quickly. Heartbreaking.

We took in the neighbor’s cat because it kept escaping their house and showing up in a snowdrift in front of ours. Finally I stopped returning it. They would occasionally come over to visit her.

Paul is putting bologna out in the garage as a guide to figuring out if a cat actually goes in there now. Bologna gone, we assume cat. Bologna still there? Sigh.

I thought someone might take up residence in the cat house we put on the feeding table, but none did. So I use it to protect food from snow and rain. I throw bread and catfood into the house, and leave the birdseed and peanuts and bologna out on the table. Then I keep a broom and a shovel by the feeding window and keep the table clear through the night when it snows. But this year everyone seems to be hibernating except the smallest possum.

Baloney? I didn’t know cats liked bologna.

It is heartbreaking to see the strays isn’t it?. Bless you for taking care of so many.

Before we moved out here, I had the best little stray show up. He was completely feral, I couldn’t even touch him. It took about two years for him to quit running off when I just open the door. He was such a good cat! I had an outside cat that was constantly getting beat up by the neighborhood bullies. This cat would protect him, he would go and fight the neighborhood boys and make them leave. And he and Max were best of friends. They won’t even sleep in the same house together. We had two houses outside, that were insulated and her blankets. I guess I only needed one! I name Tim seven only because the vet made me give him a name. I told him he was a stray that they needed something to put on his chart. But I got him fixed, got them shots, that was an event. I had to trap them to bring him in there the first time and I could never trap him again. And then we got the little Yorky, it was just amazing. And the Yorky would play! They would chase each other back-and-forth. The Yorky would chew on his years and pull his tail and make them cry. I’m in seven had had enough he would just hold Cooper down. But he wouldn’t use his claws and Cooper never even yelped. Then he would let them go and Cooper would jump up like saying that was fun do it again.

Sadly, seven got sick. The vet said it was some kind of muscular problem. He just got skinnier and skinnier and had more and more injuries. I knew he was really sick when he let me pick him up and bring him into the vet. It was only four. I was trying to figure out a way to bring him out here with us but I sadly didn’t need to do that.
