Shoving Alinsky's Rules for Radicals Right Back in the Left's Ugly Face
Townhall ^ | Feb 13, 2017 | Kurt Schlichter Kurt Schlichter

Posted on 01/28/2018 3:37:23 PM PST by mairdie

Rule 1: "Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have." Actually, we now have a lot of power. No, we don't have direct power over liberal bastions like Hollywood, the media and academia, but by threatening to use governmental levers of power to impact their tax breaks, copyright laws, and subsidies, we can pound them into submission. And Trump is clearly willing to use all his powers to beat the living liberalism out of our enemy.

Wait, this is where the Fredocons loosen their bow ties and stutter, "Why...we can't...Professor Wellington Wimpenheimer IV would not approve...it's so mean...oh, well I never!"

Wake up. Man up. If you ever want to win (and maybe someday even kiss a girl) you need to get real. They hate us, and we either win or we spend the rest of our miserable lives as Boxer the Horse, slaving away to fund the welfare state under the lash of the Left until it decides it's time to pack us off to the glue factory.

The date is obviously wrong. I used the date that shows on the article.

These days, it all depends on how the Date presents itself....

It's a terrible article and not a good excerpt either since we all know Alinsky's rules and citing Rule #1 doesn't tell us anything about what the article is going to say.

The major point about understanding Alinsky's rules is not "nyey, nyey, nyeh I can't hear you." The rules apply to anyone trying to advocate change. In this case it is patriotic Americans and constitutional conservatives who want change. The tactics work just as well for us as they do for leftists, and that is what the author should have been writing about.

I dunno. I tried to comment and comments are closed. It may be that old (and Kurt that prescient).

But I do see your comment, so I’m confused.

Did you read the full article at Townhall? That’s EXACTLY what he’s saying.

I love the article and, no, not everyone can recite the rules. Only the most famous ones. His entire point is what he writes AFTER the rule - which is how Trump turns the world of the lefties upside down.

The excerpt was chosen to show the style of the article. Rule recitation - followed by how Trump knows how to use it against them. I don’t tend to like to excerpt much because I think a good writer deserves the clicks.

He does have the most wonderful writing style. Rarely see someone this witty.

Could you explain, please? Is there a way I could have found a more accurate date?

You are one of the few that understand how to push the rules back at them and not stumble when they use them against us.

Actually, here is exactly what he is saying, and I quote directly from the conclusion:

And now we are woke, as the ridiculous Left would put it, to the Left’s tired Alinsky antics. We see it’s all a lie. It’s all a scam. And we aren’t playing the game by their rules anymore.

And that is exactly my point. This is Nyeh nyeh nyeh, I can't hear you.

What we should learn from Alinsky's rules is that we can turn the tables on the leftists. We can ridicule them. We can make their side tired of their same old boring tactics. We can make them live by their own rules, which they cannot do.

It's not, "we know what you are up to" as if, in the first place we haven't known what they are up to since RR told us and them what they were up to. But in the second place, knowing what they are up to, which we have known for a long time, does nothing to stop them.

“Posted: Feb 13, 2017 12:01 AM” seems to be when it went up on the web.

My comment was intended to be a humorous / minorly sarcastic bounce towards gender/race self identification that could be usurped by dates eventually.

And now that you explain, I completely see - and enjoy! - your humor. Apologies for my obtuseness.

It never questioned for a moment. It shouted that it had the right to BE 2017 if it wanted. It’s up to us to get our puny sense of time in hand and adjust. Anyone know a number to call to reach Dr Who?

I think the date is correct (I started to comment, but it’s closed). (Plus there’s a line in there about war with Australia (I think re: accepting the immigrants in an Obama bargain). Still contemporary, though. Well worth reading. Even again.

Thanks, StAnt. I actually had my mind in the deep freeze and forgot that Feb 2017 was AFTER the inauguration. Duh! And THAT’S why the date can be correct. Thanks for the explication that I really needed.

I’m not understanding the “comments closed” issue at all, since I can see your comment, whatever it told you. Total confusion. And I can reply.
