A Florida Highway Patrol officer is in hot water after video showing him apparently racing a Lamborghini Aventador with his police car hit Instagram this week.
Shot from the inside of a second Aventador, it shows the Dodge Charger patrol car and the Italian supercar with New York tags cruising along next to each other before the drivers hit their accelerators and pull away. The Lamborghini predictably leaves the Dodge in the dust.
The exact location of the race has not been revealed, but the FHP knows who the trooper is and is considering if disciplinary action is necessary.

Was it Sheriff Israel??
When I was in high school there was a deputy sheriff nicknamed Pretty Boy. He drove a 1957 Ford with a police Intercepter police engine. Pretty Boy was known to race against hot-rodders by telling them he’d let them out of a speeding ticket they were about to get if they could beat him racing.
To my knowledge, nobody ever beat Pretty Boy.
Ah, cut him some slack.
The Lamber, of course.
I think what this proves is Kawasaki enforcement need Lamborginis, not cruddy American cars.
“I think what this proves is Kawasaki enforcement...”
Perhaps the strangest autocorrect yet.
It should be law enforcement.
The Lambo smoked him!
Thought you might be suggesting a motor-cycle race against the sports car.
Heh. I thought I understood it. It’s late...
Did it have Sheriff Israel’s picture on it?
I always get the two confused ;’}
Apparently your computer knew you were talking about vehicles ... it’s just confused about other things.
Apparently the sedan with the photographer is also faster than the “racing police car”.
The cop whose boss says he’s going to face discipline must wish it was BS, too.
Bet He would be thrilled to write up a couple of teenagers doing that. Not much control would concern me if I was his Boss. Done my share of Street Racing 50 +years ago so not against a little fun .
It’s good to know there are “stateies” like that still around. Back in the day................
Judge Harry Sauce of the circuit court in Hamilton county Indiana used to race us on SR37 traffic light to traffic light. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Sauce Cops would be doing speed enforcement but I never even got pulled over if I was racing the judge. He might as well have been a Mississippi small town traffic court judge. https://www.in.gov/judiciary/jud-qual/files/jud-qual-opin-sauce-harry.pdf
