1911- William H Taft is President. Both the income tax and Federal Reserve Bank are a couple years off. Motor cars are still mostly the odd play things of the rich. Most folks use coal to heat their home and gas to light it. Air conditioning does not exist. People apparently did know how to dress well. On the downside, life expectancy is 47.

In later incarnations they slanted the slide serrations which ‘looks cooler’ but is actually inferior to the original vertical placement for maximal grip along the line of action.
They got a lot of exercise back then; and not so much junk food.

There were some overweight people, but not nearly as many as you see today. In 1911 there were few cars, no television, no Internet, good quality food was cheap, and most food was fresh.
Nowadays you have 500 channels, high speed Internet, 4G wireless phones, everything cheap to eat comes in a box or a bag, and you’re consuming more unpronounceable chemicals in a meal than likely even existed then. People have no reason to manually labor. Handouts are abundant on the backs of those who toil.

Indeed. By and large most people’s diet back then sucked compared to ours. Most people were still eating what was available by the season and health regulation was virtually non-existent compared to 2018 (or even 1958). Nice clothes and better manners aside, life was hard and often short back then.
