On this day, 14 years ago, Ronald Reagan passed away from pneumonia complications exacerbating his end stage Alzheimer's Disease.
This is a memorial post for a truly great conservative, who won the Cold War, and changed the landscape majorly.

FReepers, please remember Ronald Reagan as we face the challenges of the Progressive elitists and neo Marxists, whom he fought his entire political career. Re-read his diary notes-- for perspective of the real man. And say a prayer for President Trump.

Ronald Regan. Margaret Thatcher. Pope John Paul II
They ended the Soviet Union. But now we have the Progressives (Communists) with only President Trump leading the Free World.
This is why we all need to be strong and fight, and support our President.

I was driving home from a conference and heard on the radio that he had passed away. I pulled off the road and cried for about five minutes.

And my fabulously religious conservative father died on the same day!! RIP...I KNOW YOU ARE, DAD!

The world - and Eastern Europe in particular - was so very lucky to have these three all on the world stage at the same time.

Very true.
Too bad we have a flake Pope and squirmish Ms. May.
Maybe King Abdullah and some other leader can step up for a repeat.

I went to the Rotunda!
My sister, BIL, and all their kids went with me and we stood out there for a few hours to go by. It was great. I had skipped work to go, and was just starting to date my husband, but couldnt get him to come with us. So glad I did it.
I really love that man.

I also remember this as it was Belmont day, and of course my birthday is the 7th so there was that anticipation. Always sticks in my mind. Esp. since that was the Belmont that the hugely popular and highly talented Smarty Jones just missed for the TC.

My God what a wonderful time. Wish I had been able to vote then. Could only bask in the glory.

Here's another person - a woman Marine - shedding a tear over the passing of Ronald Reagan. It was at a memorial service at his grave at the Reagan Ranch in Simi Valley, California.

I heard the news on the way to an Olive Garden, 2 days before my son was born. Ironically, we are sitting in the same Olive Garden right now (though my son and daughter are a bit bigger than they were then).
I miss the Gipper...but at least Trump is carrying on a lot of his legacy.

Charlton Heston doesn’t deserve to be on the same stage as Regan. He helped pass the 1968 Gun Control Act.
