Restaurant manager fired after refusing to serve customer wearing MAGA hat

The manager of a popular restaurant in Vancouver, Canada, was fired after he told a customer to remove his “Make America Great Again” cap or he would refuse to serve him.

Darin Hodge, the former manager of the Teahouse in Stanley Park, told Global News he stood by his decision to ask the man to take off the cap saying the hat represented “racism, bigotry, Islamophobia, misogyny, white supremacy, (and) homophobia.”

“As a person with a strong moral backbone, I had to take a stand against this guest’s choice of headwear while in my former place of work. Absolutely no regrets,” he said in a written statement to Global News.

Yeah, cause Friendly’s and Perkins are too classy for a cap that promotes making the greatest country in the world great again :)

I’m thinking of wearing a cap, a shirt, 11 pins and pants with MAGA along the sides.

There must be some kind of lawsuit for not being served.

Even if it’s a few grand for emotional damages, I can use a new HDTV :)

I love the meaning behind the MAGA caps but I don’t want to see them while eating or church like any other caps.

Really? I want to see them EVERYWHERE. I want to see the leftist pukes cowering like vampires in a garlic field.

But, it is basic freedom of association for business owners to be able to pick and choose customers.

In the case at hand the business owner was free to choose his employees, and he chose not to retain one who refused service to a customer. It's win-win-win. The business owner gets to keep his customer, the now-former employee gets to exhibit his cheap moral posturing, and the customer gets to enjoy the meal best served cold.

Tell me about it. I’m sick of reading about all these Canadian celebrities who come here and take advantage of this country to boost their careers and then viciously attack anyone who isn’t socialist, commie, “progressive” which I like to call “regressive” because there is nothing they do in the name of progress. Jim Carrey especially, that’s one punk I’d love to see booted out of the country. He doesn’t make movies anymore, his fulltime occupation now is viciously bashing Trump like a sick obsessive....

Yes, you are correct.

It is win-win-win.

What the guy did was bad, but it’s far better than having him go passive-aggressive. He could’ve said nothing, but gone ahead and contaminated the hat-wearer’s food.

Willfully contaminating food is a felony in some States, by the way.

“...can a guy afford to be unemployed for sixteen years?”

You used to be able to collect Unemployment for seemingly the entire EIGHT YEARS under 0bama; I seem to remember it being one of Nancy Pelosi’s ideas of an economic ‘stimulus.’

*SNORT*

Glad to see these LOSERS getting the attention they deserve. Hard to believe this guy lost his job in Canada, though. Once PDJT gets rolling on fixing ‘that giant sucking sound’ known as NAFTA, they’ll be liking us even less. ;)

And his decision represented inclusiveness, tolerance, and love.......all in line with his claimed idealism....

Even if a felony, someone willfully contaminating a Trump supporter’s food would probably get a pass.

Well, that ship has sailed a long time ago. People wear caps everywhere inside now.

When I am inside a restaurant, even a diner, I remove mine.

What is funny is if he had refused to provide service to a Muslim he would be charged with a hate crime and face prison time.

Agree, but it is the BUSINESS OWNERS right to decide, not an employee. The employees of the Red Hen at least called the owner to make the decision. She did, and now her business will pay the price. But I support the owner’s right to do business with whom they wish without the government getting involved.

I really despise so called “civil rights” laws. I really wish that local prosecutors would have brought serious charges every time they should have, whenever any individual, or group of individuals, hurt or killed anyone else. The failure to justly enforce the law, led to even more bad laws.

The owner of the restaurant has the Right to trade his property, as he desires, other individuals have to only desire to trade their property with him. If the restaurant owner is a jerk, no one can be forced under the law to trade with him, and it goes both ways.

...saying the hat represented “racism, bigotry, Islamophobia, misogyny, white supremacy, (and) homophobia.”

The hat represents, if anything, those things which make America great:

On the issue of sexual morality, none of us is pure. If the red hat supports any position on sexual morality, it condemns the sexual abuse of women and children.

As to whether the red hat is "homophobic": There is nothing "disordered" or "phobic" about fearing sodomites. Their brand of evil is a real and present danger not only to America but to the world. We are all sinners, but Bible in Romans I describes those God has given over to a reprobate mind as particularly wicked. The reprobate exhibits more than sexual depravity but is also filled with all kinds of unrighteousness. These know that their behavior is worthy of death (in this life), and take pleasure in encouraging this behavior in others. And we are reminded today that God's disposition toward the sodomite has not changed (Jude 1:7) and that his wrath extends beyond this life.

The sodomites would shame us into accepting their wicked behavior. Not going to happen. It's filthy and reprehensible, totally undeserving of any respect, and worthy of condemnation.
