Think adoptions had some hair on them. Obama applied pressure because of adoption and Foberts caved.

no idea if it’s true, but it does seem somewhat trumpian; it would force his opponents to viciously attack a woman, Catholicism, and God in general.

he’s very good at making his attackers look insane.

No kidding. I’ve yet to see a decent female SCOTUS. They all lean left, or are hard core leftists. No matter what they “seem” to be before taking the oath.

Plus Amy has some serious issues.
1) she’s catholic. With the Pope now being full out pro-gay, that’s scary.
2) she’s got little kids from another country, instead of adopting US kids.
3) she’s married to a DOJ official.

Combine all of those, and it just screams : Pro-forced gay acceptance, Pro-immigration from crap countries, and Pro-The DOJ can do no wrong.
I hope I’m wrong.

“virtue signaling” has officialy become the most overused and essentially meaningless word on FR. and it seems to have happen relatively recently.

I guess people think it sounds impressive.

Well, we all know that POTUS is the worst thing to happen to the glass ceiling in a very long time (and he’s just getting started!) but with that said, I’m not seeing this particular Supreme Court pick happening though it cannot be doubted that she will have a long and distinguished academic career.

Something tells me she would make the left the most angry. Kinda like Sarah.

Oh no, not a Catholic!! The Rats and media stooges will be all hands on deck now. The damn pope will probably denounce her. She believes in God and has a baby every time she gets pregnant. Some one needs to find out how her husband is forcing her to be like this.

Good points. How do they do the war on women, when their target would be a woman?

I don’t know if Trump thinks this will help (it may at the margins), but really the only demo where he’s relatively weak is white women. He’s at 90% GOP approval and has high marks from minorities, relative to your average Republican.

But, I agree: savaging a qualified, articulate woman - a mother of 5 + 2 adopted minority kids is not a good look. Making vulnerable red state donks on the ballot this year walk that plank is going to be horrible for them.

If they vote her down, they likely lose seats next year and get Pryor instead.

Wow. We have had exactly one female SCOTUS justice. And she drifted a bit to the left during her tenure. Meanwhile, Souter went full libtard. But you bash O'Conner. Whose dissent in Kelo should be required reading in civics courses.

I am really getting sick of some FReepers trying to draw a line from one point.

Sandra Day O’Connor.

Sandra Day O'Connor had already been affiliated with Planned Parenthood before her nomination. These two are night and day.

Wow. You draw that conclusion from exactly one GOP-nominated justice and three dem justices.

So tell me, genius - should Souter be given as proof that we should no longer nominate men?

Yeah. There's no shortage of black children in America awaiting adoption, hoping for a family. Even blacks don't want to adopt them. Why someone would go to foreign country to adopt black children is baffling until you realize it makes for great ad copy.

After a few clips of crying children on the border, you know how she'll rule on immigration issues.
