In a chilly, high-ceilinged room in a Sussex preparatory school in the winter of 1959, I work intently on my model of the destroyer HMS Cossack. Such models come in lurid cardboard boxes illustrated with pictures of aircraft, tanks and warships, amid scenes of fiery melodrama, guns emitting orange streaks of flame, and the smoke of battle. With these and our imaginations, we seek to recreate the thrill of the war we have just missed, in which our fathers fought and our mothers endured privations.
This is a war just over the horizon of time in which we wish we had taken part, and which dominates our boyish minds above all things. Courage in pursuit of goodness, in the face of a terrible enemy, was what we most believed in. Even the Crucifixion grew pale and faint in the lurid light of air raids and great columns of burning oil at Dunkirk...

At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of Officers that included personnel from most of those countries.
Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, 'whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English.'
He then asked, 'Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?'
Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied 'Maybe it's because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German.'

The War to make the World safe for Stalin. Just another Sucker War. We’d have been better off staying out.
What about Pearl Harbor?
Who are We?
This person is not only a idiot, but one who would lead us back to those times. A Dumbass that believes he knows better then the men who gave all and defeated the very same people who wpould kill him today.
Then they call us "hitler"............morons.
“What about Pearl Harbor?”
The War we create to get into Europe. that “Pearl Harbor?”.
In the not too distant future, Europeans will look out their windows on an Islamic Europe, and wish Hitler had won.
We created Pearl Harbor to get into the war in Europe?
Right after WW2 we should have went to war against Communism!
In case, you did not pay attention in history class that day, Germany declared war on us not the other way around.
Staying out?! No, all that was needed was for FDR to tell Stalin to fight the Germans and give him the proper supplies to do so, while at the same time, telling Stalin that Russia had been on Hitlers side so dont get any cute ideas. The D-Day invasion should have been from Greece such as to take over Eastern Europe for the Western Powers. FDR was Stalins b***h and only on his death bed did FDR realize that America had been a useful idiot for Stalins evil.
“while at the same time, telling Stalin that Russia had been on Hitlers side so dont get any cute ideas. “
Lol. USSR had been far from being the major business partner of The Third Reich. FDR knew that. And FDR knew which countries imposed the harsh Versailles treaty on Germany, which countries signed the Munich agreement with Hitler.
That sentiment is what got Patton killed.
Yes, the british continued to try to use us to further their own empire right up until eisenhower didn’t go along with the suez canal invasion.
If the Germans hadn’t bombed Pearl Harbor...we wouldn’t have fought the Japanese...
Yes. FDR had no way to let America be an useful idiot for Churchill’s great Britain dream.
Churchill was a great Briton, because he tried his best to MBGA (make Britain great again).
Sir. Winston Churchill’s agenda:
MBGA (make Britain great again)
