Ford has to have asked for immunity from prosecution...
News and Logic | 23 September 2018 | Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin

It is beginning to be obvious that Ford has asked for immunity from prosecution (for perjury) as it is becoming apparent that she is lying. SEVERAL supposed witnesses have no recollection of the party. She has to have asked for immunity from prosecution for what she is trying to do.

Understood. But a defamation lawsuit related to allegations that were made during a judge's own confirmation process seems a lot different than your run-of-the-mill personal injury case.

It just seems like a scenario that's too bizarre to even contemplate.

What that tells you is how much money he is making working directly for the Democrat party.

How can you have immunity from prosecution for perjury while testifying under oath - unless of course the point is to have a chit chat in front of the senate without being under oath.

Moreover it would not shield her from civil liability for defamation.

I think all these “professional politicians” are just sitting back and laughing their collective asses off at the American people...

And that is how they got Trump.

It is definitely a blind spot for some, and I think the Dems are pretty clever (in a horrifying sort of way) in exploiting it.

I think this is the Dems October surprise. Trump has more sense than the Congressional GOP, particularly on this point. I’m hoping that they listen to him, but I see no evidence that they will. It’s kind of like the moments before the trainwreck when you know what is coming and all you can do is to try to look away.

I would not be surprised at all if at least one, probably two, bring suits, or even charges, against her.

Excellent point, but I don't see how anyone other than the "other boy in the room" would necessarily have a strong case here. In fact, your post just triggered a point in my mind. Check out this thread from last night:

Ford Attorney Responds to Her Friend Not Corroborating the Assault Story

Look what is happening here. One week ago, Debra Katz was demanding an FBI investigation and subpoenas for these 3-4 witnesses who would allegedly corroborate Ford's story. Now she's posting a message on Twitter in the middle of the night making excuses for why one of those witnesses can't corroborate the story.

Katz isn't negotiating with the Senate Judiciary Committee to get Ford's testimony on the record anymore. She's desperately trying to save her client from legal exposure in criminal and civil court.

She never filed a police report nor reported it to any authorities. Did she some counseling immediately after this ‘traumatic event’? Can any witness collaborate on this ‘event’? This whole crapfest would get tossed out at any local courthouse yet here we are entertaining frauds in the cesspool of DC fools and political hacks. An utter national disgrace.

The Kavanaugh family may never sue her for the damage she has caused, but the other 3 people she has dragged into her claimed episode surely should
She has affected all of them for the rest of their lives

If the Rats wanted the confirmation vote to be held very quickly they would have shut down this charade yesterday; the Rats are in control of this fiasco, not Ford.

The Democrats can't force a Judiciary Committee vote. Only the Republicans can.

Look at what has happened over the last 24 hours with: (1) the emergence of this fourth non-corroborating "corroborating witness"; and (2) the addition of former Federal prosecutor and DOJ Inspector General Michael Bromwich to Ford's legal team.

I believe Christine Buzzy Ford is now at the point where her personal interests in all potential criminal and legal matters are in conflict with the interests of Dianne Feinstein, the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee, and the Democrat Party itself.

The GOP has picked up two House seats in polling that were tossup since this began, reversing the slide, but I have to think that this is a well thought out strategy on the part of the Dems and that this could get unimaginably ugly if they allow a full-on witch trial to take place by caving on Blasey Ford’s “fair” demands.

I think she has an excellent class action against that school with her fellow students. If that was their idea of a multi-k a year 1980s institute of higher education, as revealed in their proud yearbook, their culture encouraged rape and alcoholism. I’m not even joking for once. Those parents should have pulled their girls out, if the yearbook was approved by the actual school. And anyone who was groped at a party in the school milieu should sign up for that suit.

There are not a lot of “equal rights/#metoo” cases coming before the court. None of the cases currently scheduled for the Supreme Court have anything to do with that, and rarely would such a case make it there as those deal with state level criminal law.

In any event, thats not a basis for recusal in the first place—”prebias” is not a thing, and having some personal involvement in a type or class of case does not require recusal. Having a close personal connection to a litigant or other person involved (the defendant is judge’s son, the CEO of the plaintiff company is judge’s cousin), or having a personal interest in the outcome of a particular case (judge has heavy investments in defendant’s company)...those are the types of things that demand recusal.

I saw a long time ago that this nation was headed the wrong way, thus the chosen moniker. However, many folks will not listen, even to scripture. Soon, the moniker will be validated.

It's not at all bizarre from a legal perspective. As others have pointed out, though, it could be difficult from a political perspective.

True, but keep this in mind. During this election cycle there’s a lot of focus on the ten Senate Democrats facing re-election in states Trump won in 2016, but there are actually twelve Democrat senators in Trump states over all — as well as at least a half-dozen in states where toeing the Democrat Party line in this charade can damage the party down the road (I’m thinking states like New Hampshire, Colorado, Nevada, Virginia, New Mexico and Minnesota).
