What is it like to see the universe in a way no one ever has before? In Earthrise, this weeks new Op-Doc, the astronauts of Apollo 8 tell the tale of humanitys first journey beyond Earths orbit. Director Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee who previously directed the Op-Docs Sanctuaries of Silence, Vanishing Island and Who Speaks Wukchumni? masterfully weaves archival NASA footage and candid interviews with the astronauts themselves to explore what deep space means for the human spirit.
CGI.
There is not a single photo of the globe earth that is not digitally or mechanically altered.
Earthrise is one of the most famous pictures taken and always will be.
But I noticed The NYTimes left out the other famous event of the flight, the reading from Genesis on Christmas Eve.
Instead we get the godless commie interpretation of the Earth is an insignificant speck in a vast Universe.
The NYTimes also uses the video to promote globalism. The problem with that is it gives unlimited and unchecked power to corrupt politicians.

Hear, hear.
Umm... what? Did we leave Earth's SOI at some point since the 60s? I haven't been in a coma recently.
It’s likely the work of a journalism major who prefers form over substance.
